Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Respect intellectual property rights - do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view when editing articles - this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such information or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism, doing so will result your account being blocked from editing.
The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! TheDanforth
editA proposed deletion template has been added to the article TheDanforth, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of TheDanforth. ukexpat (talk) 17:54, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Danforthbia (talk) 18:07, 18 January 2008 (UTC)Again, I object to this change for the same reason as stated on the "theDanforth" discussion page:
"The Danforth" is a separate entity from "Greektown". Even though they share one common street, they are both separate business improvement areas. Reference for these BIAs is here: http://www.toronto-bia.com/bias/index.php?what=east "Danforth Village" is yet another BIA that resides on the same street; however, it is ALSO separate from Greektown and like "the Danforth" shares nothing else but a streetname. Cultures in these BIAs are entirely different as any resident or business in the neighbourhood will attest to.
Speedy deletion of TheDanforth
editA tag has been placed on TheDanforth requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Deletion of TheDanforth
editI deleted this page because the majority of the content infringes on the copyright of another webpage. While you say that you are the writer and copyright holder of the text, there is no way Wikipedia can verify that. Wikipedia has very strict policies on copyright. I'm sure you'll agree this is for the protection of copyright holders. If you want to use that text for an article, you'll essentially have to submit something to that effect to the Wikimedia Foundation. If you want more details on the process, leave a message on my talk page. Most people find it easier to paraphrase or rewrite the information rather than go through the process. The deletion of the article does not preclude it from being re-created but if the new version contains the same copyvio text, I can pretty much guarantee it will be speedily deleted again. File:TheDanforthatBroadview.jpg missing description details
editis missing a description and/or other details on its image description page. If possible, please add this information. This will help other editors make better use of the image, and it will be more informative to readers.
If the information is not provided, the image may eventually be proposed for deletion, a situation which is not desirable, and which can easily be avoided.
If you have any questions, please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Theo's Little Bot (error?) 09:59, 14 April 2013 (UTC)The file File:TheDanforthatBroadview.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
