Master list of Nixon opponents

edit

Thanks for your work on that list. It's an ongoing problem of people adding themselves or someone they heard was on the list. Many editors have also tried to revise or remove the category "Black Congress Men" which appeared in the original, claiming this or that reason. If you click the "watch" tab at the top of any article, you can then use the "my watchlist" link at the top of each page to monitor any changes to pages you are watching. FYI, I also corrected the Harriet Van Home problem you found and expanded the correctly-named article. Again, welcome! Jokestress (talk) 19:17, 1 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your ongoing work on the opponents articles. I removed the unverified information. I also added scans of the original memo at Nixon's Enemies List so people will stop adding John Lennon (one of the primary fixations of uninformed editors). At some point, I'll track down the larger list(s). If you are interested, the original files are archived here: H. Res. 803. Thanks! Jokestress (talk) 20:14, 8 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Jokestress, thank you for your welcome and thanks. I just discovered my talk page here, so I'm 9 months late with my multiple thanks. I guess I'm still finding my way around. I have copies of the original Washington Post and NY Times articles (June 28 and Dec. 21, 1973) if you don't have them. Also note that wire-service versions of the articles about the lists are now findable and free at news.google.com/archivesearch by doing an advanced search for "enemies list" and limiting the dates to 6/27/1973-6/28/1973 and 12/21/1973-12/22/1973. I plan to brush up on article design some month soon and try to add some well-sourced stuff. Danaxtell (talk) 03:08, 9 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Cool! I'd love to get copies of any original sourcing you have. You can reach me by email on my talk page (choose "E-Mail this user" in the left column) or via Google. And congrats on the site! I started several of the bios in the main list, so it's nice to see the whole list getting some rigorous research applied! Jokestress (talk) 07:04, 9 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
