ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Dropbox files fail WP:USERG

edit

Regarding this edit, how is it that you consider Dropbox files to be a reliable source? I can log in to Dropbox and change the text. That means it instantly fails WP:USERG. Even if the file is protected from editing, there is no certainty that the uploader supplied correct information in the first place. The file I'm looking at has no author, and it does not appear to be published anywhere. Big red flag. Binksternet (talk) 21:08, 16 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Binksternet Most of Wikipedia's ARIA certifications use dropbox links similar to this as their source, I wasn't the only one. Even the reference Template for certifications here on Wikipedia has a dropbox link. Big red flag for you who seem to have not been informed before coming to warn me. Ps. I wasn't even the first to do it

Fair enough. I wonder how the Australia certification template got tied to Dropbox. I'll go snoop around there. Binksternet (talk) 21:54, 16 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello again, just to say that I found the Dropbox source. It is published by ARIA through its website.

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Thanks for the tip and the adjustments you made. I will pay more attention in the future. ~~ Damitinha (talk) 00:26, 27 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Damitinha: In the recent discussion, Andrew318 said that those are distributors, not labels. So if you have any further comments. Regards. 2001:D08:2940:B0B5:17DF:36B7:E6FA:34C5 (talk) 05:40, 5 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
