One firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

New to Wikipedia

Thank you for the information Harry the Dirty Dog. This is my first post to Wikipedia so I am still trying to learn the ropes. I do in fact work for the company that I am writing the article for so I am attempting to remove any content that is not deemed neutral. This was worked on previously by a former co-worker of mine who made several article submissions for review. The content of this version, to my knowledge, was approved but it needed additional secondary references. I have since added these to the article. Should I be sending this article to someone to review? Also, thank you for the input regarding the username as I was unaware of this. I will submit a request to change the username and limit the access to myself. Thank you for all of the assistance.

Managing a conflict of interest

Hello, DJCRaleigh. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Allomet Corporation, you may have a conflict of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging.
