This is the second conversation for your talk page. I often watch Investigation Discovery shows. In fact, am obsessed with some of them and wrote a song about one of the Cold Case Files. Too bad Wikipedia doesn't have any music with scientific articles!

Chosing A Sandbox Page To Work On

Hello!

Yes, we can work from my sandbox page- that sounds great to me! I am actually out of town this weekend but hope to work on this on Monday. It looks like we have gotten a head start since we have references and a preliminary outline :)

Thanks for adding the references! I'll skim over the ones that I included and will work on adding a few bullet points explaining what useful material these references contain. Next, once I see your additions to the outline I'll try to see if I can expand on them any further. We will still need to add our ideas for how we would like to improve the article to the talk page of the article. Lots to do... I still need to study for our quiz too!

Hi! I hope you had a wonderful trip. I was traveling last week and it was really hard to work on stuff, so I completely understand :) There is so much to do this week - I still haven't taken the quiz or done my posts yet because I got lost in our group project! I posted an expanded outline on our group talk page. I really only expanded the first 3 sections. I forgot to include your original terminology in the outline, so I'd love it if you could expand on the bottom sections and put the terminology back in! Thanks! It is good to be home so I can get back to work and play some catch-up. Good thing we have a spring break coming up soon.... I need it! I took a look at the expanded outline and wanted to say GREAT JOB! The only thing I might suggest is that we place humans in their own category instead of having it as a subsection under animals. What do you think? I also liked the examples of polysomy that you provided and think that we should be able to find lots of references that will give us the information that we need to beef up that section. I'll be working on our group page/talk pages on and off today but will be checking the talk pages regularly in case you send any messages. Good luck on your quiz today too! I wanted to let you know that I expanded on the "See Also" category. I hope that it is okay with you that I followed the "Polyploidy" page example and instead of having subcategories under "See Also", I included the wikipages as bulleted links, and included them on my Sandbox page until we transfer them over to the group page. Also, I was wondering if you could help me understand how to indent? I am really having a tricky time and know that there is an easy way to do it (using the {{ }}) , I just can't figure it out. Great so far! I had a hard time figuring out how to make an outline with subcategories, so I used the

This is what I used (from HTML web coding)<br> or <br /> inserts a line break. Both versions of the break are supported by HTML5. </br> is invalid. Remaining Work on our "To do" List for Unit 7

So far we seem to be in great shape (IMHO!). After you have had a chance to review and digest all of the changes made to the Sandbox and Group pages, please let me know if you agree that the final thing we need to do is add our ideas for how we would like to improve the talk page of the article. As we move forward into the next units I'll be happy to focus in more detail on the plants, fungi, etc. categories. How does this sound to you? DHayes14 (talk) 16:46, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

Additions for Talk Page: Ideas for Improving Article

Users Ssumpf and DHayes14 are working together on expanding the Polysomy article as part of a Molecular Biology course assignment. We hope to collaborate with others who are interested in this topic and we are open to suggestions. According to the existing version of the Polysomy article, Polysomy is a condition in which an otherwise diploid organism has at least one more chromosome than normal and is usually caused by non-disjunction. Polysomy is considered a stub-class article of high importance in the molecular and cellular biology portal, but of medium importance on the genetics portal. This article could be expanded upon drastically and as we begin researching this topic we will be focusing on developing subtopics that further elaborate on Polysomy. In its current state this article appears as though it is an expanded dictionary definition, and only uses a glossary as a reference. There are plenty of verifiable resources available that contain no original research that we can utilize to develop the article. So far the article is neutral, but not broad or completely verifiable and we will aim to maintain a neutral tone. In the article Talk Page there has been no discussion among any Wikipedia editors about writing more in this article, but hopefully there will be some thoughtful intellectual exchanges that result from our work on this interesting article subject!
