January 2009

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Cyndi Lauper. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Cut it out.

edit

ALL photographs for the album were taken by the artist Stefanie Schneider.

Does not go at the first part of the page. If ya gonna say who did the photos you have to say everybody. SO CUT IT OUT. I have been managing this page for the last 9 MONTHS. Go away. —Preceding unsigned comment added by SoUnusual (talkcontribs) 20:55, 30 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Folks, let's please keep it civil. Relevant policies and guidelines here: WP:BITE, WP:OWN, and most importantly, WP:CIVIL. For best results, let's everyone treat everyone else with respect. Thanks, --Elonka 21:33, 30 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

To "unusual" There is no one else to credit for the photographs. Stefanie Schneider took them all. If you mind the placement of the credit, then indicate where you would like them. I'm sure we can come to an agreement. Thank-you Cyndilayseggs

I'm not retarded. I know Stefanie Schneider and I know she took the photos. But you do not put it on the Wikipedia page unless everybody else is credited. --SoUnusual (talk) 22:42, 30 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Credits for album covers are not at all relevant to the Cyndi Lauper article. If sourced, they may be appropriate for the article on the ablum. -- The Red Pen of Doom 00:35, 31 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Of coarse it's relevant. If you are talking about the album "Bring ya to the brink" then it's completely applicable as ALL the photos were done by the artist Stefanie Schneider. What is your problem with giving Stefanie Schneider credit for her work? There must be something wrong cuz this doesn't add up.

No, it is not relevant. The article is about Cyndi Lauper, not about who did the photos for an album cover. As I stated above, "who did the photos" may indeed be appropriate content for the article about that particular album, but you need to provide a source. Continued insertion of non-relavant (and non-sourced) material is a disruptive act and may lead to you being blocked or banned. -- The Red Pen of Doom 19:49, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Edit war warning

edit

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Cyndi Lauper. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. -- The Red Pen of Doom 00:34, 31 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Western United States

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Western United States. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Your account history recently has engaged in edits which promote Stefanie Schneider. Please see this. —EncMstr (talk) 21:35, 4 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Polaroid

edit

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Polaroid. While objective prose about products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Thank you. —EncMstr (talk) 22:13, 4 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Concur with EncMstr. Cyndilayseggs, it's fairly obvious that your only purpose on Wikipedia has been to promote Stefanie Schneider. Please stop. If you persist in this activity, all that is going to happen is that your account access is going to be blocked, and all the changes that you are making are going to be reverted anyway. So, if you'd like to participate on Wikipedia, please find something to work on that is not related to Schneider? Thanks, --Elonka 22:27, 4 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thank-you for your feed back. If you go to the Stefanie Schneider page, you'll see that it's been decided that it's an "orphaned" page. Said to add links. So I did to the relevent pages that correspond. While I understand that it may first appear as an "ad", if you look again, it's relevent. It's of coarse your call. Thanks again.

While a call to de-orphan an article might seem compelling, the lack of such links is not a reason to add them to articles which do not help understanding the topic per the Wikipedia Manual of Style for linkage. As you can see at Special:WhatLinksHere/Stefanie Schneider, there are now at least three solid links (and 6+ others). —EncMstr (talk) 23:22, 4 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
