Hello CyclopediaSenorita and welcome. I saw by the Feedback Dashboard that you are a little confused, although you seem to be doing fine now. The article Wikipedia:Articles for creation/My Water's On Fire Tonight "The Fracking Song" should probably have been created in your userspace, that is, User:CyclopediaSenorita/My Water's On Fire Tonight "The Fracking Song". But that's alright. I will move it there if you like. But it's not important.

You're doing fine, but if you like, I could help you work on stuff like formatting and so forth on this article. Message me if you would like that, or if you have any questions. Cheers, Herostratus (talk) 13:44, 15 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Herostratus, I've posted the same question in a thank-you message on your talk page, but would you please make any necessary edits to my first article? Also, do I need to have a senior editor "create" the article since I am new? Thank you for your help!CyclopediaSenorita (talk) 20:53, 15 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

CyclopediaSenorita, I have read your message, and I will help you. (I also removed the {{helpme}} template since I've responded). I will have more to say, advice and (with your permission) make some edits to the article, shortly (by which I mean, tonight). I think that you could post the article in the main Wikipedia right now I think (I'm not sure, maybe they've changed the rule and you have to have been editing for ten days or something), but I wouldn't do that yet. In a couple hours or so I'll be back to look at it. Herostratus (talk) 02:51, 16 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Argh, sorry, I couldn't get to it today. I will as soon as possible... soon. Herostratus (talk) 06:42, 16 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

No hurry, I'm swamped IRL as well. CyclopediaSenorita (talk) 08:49, 16 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

OK, I took a pass at it. I formatted the references using the {{cite web template}}. Added categories. I added the paragraph saying "NYT said this, PBS said that, yadda yadda" basically to get those refs into the body of the article, to establish notability. We don't want someone coming along and nominating it for deletion based on lack of notabiliy. We're safe now, I think. (WP:SONG is our notability guideline for songs, and this piece clearly passes this due to the multiple notices in notable publications).
I'm tired, and so I did kind of a quick pass. It could use a lot more tweaking, perhaps a bit more expansion, etc. Some of the statements I made regarding how to describe it may not be best, or even accurate. By all means change anything, of course.
I think that the best title for the article will be My Water's On Fire Tonight (The Fracking Song). Not sure of that and don't have a strong opinion.
I do think it could be published in main article space at any time and be safe from deletion, there's no hurry though. To be continued. Herostratus (talk) 17:57, 17 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
So where do we stand? The article is ready to be moved to main article space any time you want. Any further work on it, if needed, could be done there. Herostratus (talk) 19:26, 23 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
I just saw and responded to your posts at the article talk page. I note that you haven't edited in ten days (I'm sure you're busy) and so, if I don't hear from you in a couple of days, I'll move the article into main article space. Herostratus (talk) 05:06, 28 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
I'm planning on making some edits and additions after December 2nd(Finals week now....arrrggh). If you'd like to move it now, that's OK too, but I definitely aspire to have my changes completed by the weekend after the above date. Thanks! CyclopediaSenorita (talk) 06:00, 28 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
OK, sure. Herostratus (talk) 09:15, 28 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
This seems to have gone cold... why not let's just move it into article space? You can still work on it there if you want, and meantime other editors can too, and readers can read it. Against this, this is the chance that it will be nominated for deletion as unnotable, and it could be further buttressed against this before release. But although such a nomination could occur, I think it very unlikely that it'd be accepted, given the number of sources from notable publications. So.... if I don't hear from you in a week or so, I'll move it into main article space, OK? Herostratus (talk) 15:56, 4 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
Not having heard from you after a week, I've moved the article into main space. Congratulations, you are now the author of a Wikipedia article. I think there's a >50% chance that it will be nominated for deletion, but probably only about a 25% or less chance that it will actually be deleted. Lots of marginal articles have to go through this so don't worry. (If the article is deleted, I've saved the text and can send it you if you want). Hey, thank you for going ahead and publishing. I've had to put Wikipedia on the back burner for a bit. You have been really helpful man! If you need help with any science-related articles in the future, please talk at me! 169.235.32.219 (talk) 16:43, 12 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
