CSD Tagging.

edit

You may wish to review the speedy deletion categories before you continue new page patrolling. One of your recent taggings was for an article with no content, when in fact the article had been blanked by the creator. I have fixed the tag for you, but please check the history of a new, blank page before tagging. Thank you. Until It Sleeps Wake me 13:29, 13 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 19:22, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi Curtis,

Thanks for your encouraging words on my discussion page. I was not really aware of these notability standards prior to creating the article and I guess I should have read up some more on article creation policy before creating an article. As for your comments regarding other third party sources, the article currently has two third party sources whose topic is the Sullivan County Legal Aid Panel. I guess I can find more, but I first want to make sure that the sources currently linked in the article are the types of sources needed to stop the article from getting deleted. Would you be able to let me know regarding the these sources?

Sincerely,

Pink Bull (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 20:50, 23 July 2009 (UTC).Reply

The sources you added looked good, you might want to consider adding additional sourced content to the article to provide some context as to why this particular organization is important and notable in an encyclopedia. For more information on sources you should consider reading WP:SOURCES and WP:RELIABLE. For more information on notability as it applies to an organization you could read WP:ORG but the important thing above all to consider when deciding if something is notable is if it "has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources" Curtis (talk) 03:19, 24 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Prodding

edit

Before prodding, make sure you do a good search to see whether the topic is notable rather than only assessing it based on the current article state. The Food and Drug Administration Modernization Act was a fairly major reform to the workings of the FDA, and is definitely notable enough for an article. I've started to expand it. You could flag up articles you're not sure about to a relevant Wikiproject before sending them to their doom. Fences&Windows 19:58, 27 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

General Dynamics C4 Systems

edit

Hello : Are you going to create this General Dynamics C4 Systems article, so as to use the logo you uploaded? I have declined the speedy delete, but the logo will have to be used, or be removed in a week. I am also going to mark it for size reduction. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:17, 29 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm working on it in user space right now, I would like to use that logo after it can be used for fair use. It obviously needs to be reduced in resolution to comply though.

Hi Curtis,

I noticed you put a ""delete" notice on this page. In that it may ahve soemthing to do with "copyrighted' material. I asure you I am the author and originator of the article and it is entirely my own words. I am curious as to what made you put a pending delete notice on the article titled above>

Thanks and look forward to your input.

Reviewer permission

edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't grant you status nor change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:01, 10 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New deal for page patrollers

edit

Hi Curtis~enwiki,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
