Varieties of English used in Wikipedia

I have reverted your recent edit to Laurence Graff. There are many varieties of English; no one variety is more 'correct' than any other. In Wikipedia, all varieties have equal standing; there is no 'default' or 'proper' or always correct version. However, when an article is about a person or place or subject that is tied to a place that uses a particular variety of English, then that is used for the article. So an article about Sydney is in Australian English, the one about Barack Obama is in American English, and the one about Laurence Graff, an English jeweller, is in British English. WP:ENGVAR provides more information on the varieties of English used and how to edit respecting them. It's perhaps worth checking up on, as people sometimes don't take too kindly to being told their perfectly correct way of spelling is incorrect, and having an incorrect 'correction' made instead ... Changing other people's comments

Hi. I notice you've been correcting some spelling errors, which is great! But it's not really done to change people's comments on Talk pages, even to correct spelling errors - it changes the historical record of what people actually said, and it also tends to be seen as a bit rude.
