User name issue

edit

Hello, welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed your user name seems to imply that you are a company or group. Please review this policy: WP:CORPNAME and take steps to remedy the issue. Wikipedia accounts are limited to one person, and cannot be the name of a company or group. Please reply here if you have any questions or concerns, and I will return and do my best to help. —    Bill W.    (Talk)  (Contrib)  — 20:00, 18 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Wtwilson3. I noticed that you made a change to an article, The People's Court, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Please see WP:Verifiable for Wikipedia policy on sources. —    Bill W.    (Talk)  (Contrib)  — 00:36, 19 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.  You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. Request reason:

account does not represent a group. Can we rename it to 'culvercityconsultant' if that is less misleading? Or my real name? In any case I attempted to contact the admin who did this but I was blocked from editing their talk page. Not sure of alternate methods of contacting them ...thx - David Metzler CulverCityConsultants (talk) 00:31, 11 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Procedural decline as you must use {{unblock-un}} to request a new username. I can tell you right now that merely making it a singular won't work. You might be able to email the admin from the "Email this user" link under "toolbox" on the left of the page. — Daniel Case (talk) 11:42, 13 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

reformatting request as required and requesting user name change. New name requested: heydavids CulverCityConsultants (talk) 10:05 pm, 13 August 2013, last Tuesday (2 days ago) (UTC+4)

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. Spartaz Humbug! 17:39, 15 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Here are a few key questions:

We also need to have an understanding about what you intend to edit if unblocked. Please can you explain what kind of edits you intend to do if unblocked? Thanks Spartaz Humbug! 07:19, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Yes I understand what Wikipedia is, what a conflict of interest is, and I don't plan to write a new article just yet. I just want to improve articles on subjects I know something about and possibly contribute relevant photos that fit with existing articles. I think it should be noted that the only edits this user has made so far are to People's Court. —    Bill W.    (Talk)  (Contrib)  — 11:17, 15 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
