Blocked as a sockpuppet

edit

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts as a sockpuppet of User:2010F11 per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/2010F11. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  GeneralNotability (talk) 21:07, 31 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Hi GeneralNotability, I am shocked you claim I am a sockpuppet account of 2010F11 due to my edit on Austria-Hungary. It was done in response to a user removing the Civil ensign of Austria-Hungary from the page. I believed this was vandalism. I referenced Talk:Austria-Hungary#New_Flag_? while not having participated to the discussion myself simply because I did not know what to add to what Alexanderdt00 wrote. The discussion itself, so far, is unanimous in keeping the Civil ensign. This is why I have created an account on Wikipedia and have done my first edit. I thought it was the right thing to do. I am not 2010F11. I am Conrad Caribou and you can find me on Twitter and Youtube under the same name. Conrad Caribou (talk) 03:10, 1 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Per below. I reviewed your edit history, such as it is, and agree that it's just entirely too much of a coincidence that you picked that to be your first Wikipedia edit. — Daniel Case (talk) 17:34, 1 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I don't think you are a sockpuppet - I think you are a meatpuppet, and that the one edit you'd made before today was made on behalf of someone else. I believe this based on the unlikeliness of you happening across that particular debate as a random internet user and choosing to create an account and immediately revert to a blocked editor's version. Another admin will be along to review your unblock request; if they find your explanation credible, they'll unblock you. (Reviewing admin: you're welcome to unblock if you believe it's appropriate without consulting me further). GeneralNotability (talk) 03:36, 1 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
I have never come across nor talked to User:2010F11. Me reverting Austria-Hungary to a version he created specifically is entirely coincidental. User:White Shadows also reverted Austria-Hungary to the same version and I do not believe you'd think he's a meatpuppet. Conrad Caribou (talk) 05:14, 1 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I went to the Wikimedia Discord server to look for resources that could help me appeal my block again. I discussed with the admins present and was able to provide proof that I am not a meatpuppet. I am making a second unblock request as per instructed. Conrad Caribou (talk) 23:19, 1 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Accept reason:

I discussed this with the user and have agreed to unblock them. - TheresNoTime 😺 23:20, 1 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

RfC on which flag to use for Austria-Hungary's infobox

edit

You are being invited to discuss the question of which flag to use for Austria-Hungary's infobox because you previously participated in a discussion on this topic earlier this year. The discussion can be found at Talk:Austria-Hungary#RfC: National flags vs Civil Ensign White Shadows Let’s Talk 19:06, 29 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi White Shadows. Thank you very much for letting me know! I'll be sure to participate in the conversation in the following days. Also, if you happen to be on the Wikimedia Community Discord server, you are more than welcome to poke me! Conrad Caribou (talk) 07:19, 31 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
