My RfA
editThank you for your support in my recent successful RfA. --Anthony.bradbury 14:26, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
RfA
editThank you for the support vote in my recent RfA. Although it wasn't successful I appreciate your vote of confidence. Anyway, I'm continuing on with editing Pacific War-related articles and hopefully you'll see several of them on the FA nominations page in the future. Cla68 23:01, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
moving pages
editHi, when you want to give a page another name, don't just copy and paste, but use the move button instead. This button is located as a tab, similar to the edit tab or the history tab. Copying and pasting is not wanted, because that messes with the edit history of the page. Errabee 21:39, 12 April 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but I'm not sure which page you're talking about? Coemgenus 10:41, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
Travel section and svg flag
editDon't mind at all. You've been to a lot more places than I have. All over the states but never to Canada, though? Why not? As for the png to svg, the svg flag can be scaled to any size and still look the same, while the png has a limit after which it will be all pixellated. It's a pretty big image, though, so that's not likely to happen unless you want to print it. Nevertheless, policy is to try to get rid of raster graphics png versions of images that can be better stored in a vector graphics format like svg, so I tried to replace the existing uses of the png version to the svg version. - Thanks for the explanation. As for Canada, I'd like to go, but it just never worked out for some reason. My sister has been skiing in British Columbia and she says it's quite nice. I expect I'll get north of the border sometime. Coemgenus 15:27, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
Vandalism
editWhat are you using to revert vandalism? Whatever I had has stopped automatically putting up the edit summary. JCO312 19:48, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, it stopped for me, too. I've been using the "undo" link. Coemgenus 19:50, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Good work
editJust wanted to take the time to commend you on your good work defending the Virginia Tech article from vandalism. Often when I went to revert something, you got to it first. Good work.Chunky Rice 01:40, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! There were many good editors holding back the tide of vandals. I hope it stays s-protected for a few days, at least until the hordes of vandals and trolls move on to a new story. Coemgenus 02:28, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Assessments
editHello, way back in March you rated John Redmond as a "Start" article (which it was then). April 4th I re-edited, expanded and made I feel a presentable article of it, which if it does not qualify to be a GA, certainly complies with a "B" rating. I am new to the biography section and just wish for some help in having this (and other) articles re-rated but am at a loss as to whom best to contact (is self-rating permitted ?) -- I find the whole biography section a "maze" leading nowhere I need to go. One suggestion I would like to make is that the rating template should have the date the rating was made on it. Hope you can help on Redmond. I find the removal of his ((pd-old)) image was unjustified, by-the-way. User:Osioni 24 April 2007 (11.30 Mexico).
- The article does look better now, and it might merit reconsideration of its rating. I'm not sure what process to use exactly, but you might start by asking for a peer review. That's what I did when I improved Calvin Coolidge, and the reviewer upgraded the rating. Again, I'm not sure what the procedure is exactly, but peer review seems a good place to start. Hello
editDo you have an email by any chance? Jeremy221 21:26, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- If you click the link at left that says "e-mail this user", it will send me an e-mail. Coemgenus 22:50, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- Good thing I asked you. I did and I recieved this message "This user has not specified a valid e-mail address, or has chosen not to receive e-mail from other users."
Jeremy221 05:59, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
- Well, if you must e-mail, send it here: Coemgenus at gmail dot com. Coemgenus 16:13, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
The headline of the news article I quoted calls it a snub. It's in a news article, not an editorial. Corvus cornix 21:43, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- Indeed, it was the news source's editorializing, not yours. I didn't mean to impute to you any malign intent, and I'm sorry if it came off that way. Coemgenus 21:45, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- OK, I understand. Still, it's hard to impugn the motives of Reuters, don't you think? :) Not that I'm going to change it back or anything ... Corvus cornix 21:53, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
This form message is being sent to you either due to your membership with WikiProject Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. A new drive has been started requesting that all members review at least one article (or more, if you wish!) within the next two weeks at GAC to help in removing the large backlog. This message is being sent to all members, and even members who have been recently reviewing articles. There are almost 130 members in this project and about 180 articles that currently need to be reviewed. If each member helps to review just one or two articles, the majority of the backlog will be cleared. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the GAC talk page. --Nehrams2020 00:21, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
