Ira Seidenstein

edit

Greetings, Your article on Ira Seidenstein makes claims of notability, which is why I have not put it to a deletion discussion: There is a likelihood that it can be licked into shape. However, repeatedly removing tags from articles will not endear you to the people who are otherwise willing to help improve the article, and it is in fact, vandalism. The Unsourced BLP tag serves as a warning to readers that the article violates Wikipedia policy and is not trustworthy since it contains (in this case many) statements without independent source.

Note that while it is okay to source trivial information (such as date of birth) from sources controlled by the subject, any claims which might be challenged or which support the notability of the subject must be backed up by sources which are reliable and independent of the subject.

I urge you to read the guidelines and policies linked in the welcome message above. Also, if you are actually Mr Seidensteing or have a family or working relationship with him, you should read the Conflict of Interest guideline and abide by that with respect to this article. dramatic (talk) 08:57, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to ‎Quantum Theatre: Slapstick to Shakespeare, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Please fix the article up. Thank you. Proposed deletion of Ira Seidenstein

edit

The article Ira Seidenstein has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Still unsourced a month after creation. Seems likely to be an autobiography.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. gadfium 09:50, 16 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the cleanup of the article, but you failed to address the major concern, which was that the article did not provide links to reliable sources, which means third-party publications to verify the information. This is an important protection for all articles, but particularly important for biographies of living people. I have looked for such sources with Google but not found anything substantial. You may be better placed to find such sources - a couple of substantial reviews of his (or is it your?) work would be an excellent start.

In the interim, I have moved the article to the next step in the deletion process. You are welcome to comment at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ira Seidenstein.-gadfium 19:43, 21 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
