License tagging for Image:Cvilletrojan.PNG edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Cvilletrojan.PNG. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:05, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

TfD nomination of Template:YouTube edit

Template:Youtube has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page. Thank you. ~MDD4696 23:27, 16 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Images in signatures edit

Please review WP:SIG: "Images of any kind should not be used in signatures." Their use is generally seen as disruptive, as evidence in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Wario the Quario (2 nomination). Please refrain from including images in your signature in the future. -- H·G (words/works) 04:33, 29 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Could you please also edit the image desciption page of Image:Cvilletrojan.PNG to include the source and copyright holder of this image. If it is the logo of Clarenceville School District (or one of its schools), then they almost certainly own its copyright and it is not possible for you to release it under the GFDL. If this is the case, the image can only be used on Wikipedia under our fair use policy, which restricts it to use in article commentary about the school or organization. Thanks. ×Meegs 07:26, 29 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please stop making a mess in the road articles edit

You just made a mess in the Freeway and Expressway articles. While I understand your confusion (the articles are a huge mess at the moment due to an ongoing fight between SPUI and Zoney and myself and Vegaswikian), please do not intervene unless you understand the relevant laws and regulations and you have engaged in the debate on the relevant talk pages. For an analysis of the laws concerning freeways and expressways (mostly drafted by me), see Types of road. The text there was originally in Freeway until moved recently by SPUI. --Coolcaesar 05:35, 29 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Also, you altered the plain text of a quotation so that it no longer matches the official version in California law. See the correct text at FindLaw.[1] I hope this was a genuine error on your part and not vandalism. --Coolcaesar 05:38, 29 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Jay Somebody edit

The article Jay Somebody has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This happened because the article seems to be about a person or group of persons but it does not indicate how or why that person or group is notable. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. You might also want to read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. --ZimZalaBim (talk) 21:07, 16 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Brand Nubian edit

The group has two songs named "Brand Nubian", their debut single from 1989 (not recorded in 1992) and a second version produced by Buckwild on their 1998 album Foundation. I don't think the song page is important enough to merit a disambiguation page, why didn't you just put a "This page is about the group, for the song see..." link on the top of the page? --PDTantisocial 09:55, 23 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hybrid music genres edit

I've just nominated Category:Hybrid music genres for renaming. See here. I like the category - it really helps clear the confusion with Category:Crossover (music), and the two articles - but the term used in the music field is fusion, not hybrid. Just wanted to let you know so you could weigh in. ~Switch t 14:13, 19 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Fuck man edit

Please refrain from introducing inappropriate pages, such as Fuck man, to Wikipedia. Doing so is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. MfD nomination of Fuck man edit

Fuck man, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Fuck man and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Fuck man during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Off2riorob (talk) 20:15, 19 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:MTV-1.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading File:MTV-1.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MGA73 (talk) 23:14, 11 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
