November 2014 edit

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Toledo War. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted or removed.

  • If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor then please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
  • If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive, until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively could result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Kendall-K1 (talk) 17:11, 6 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Toledo War, you may be blocked from editing. Imzadi 1979  20:17, 17 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Let me offer you a piece of friendly advice

Before you hit the undo button on Toledo War again, go reply to the thread on this subject on Talk:Toledo War.

We have a idea around here called WP:BRD, which stands for "Bold, Revert, Discuss".
  • Bold: you were bold in making the initial change. We encourage bold thinking, but that doesn't mean everything changed will stay.
  • Revert: you were reverted by someone who disagreed with your change. It happens. That's one way other interested editors will signal their disagreement with your change, as it was made.
  • Discuss: if you feel the change should be made, you should discuss it on the talk page for the article. We operate by consensus around here, and if you make a good argument in the discussion for your change, you will probably convince others to use it. You may come to a compromise based on other suggestions, and the end result is better than what you initially wanted to change.
That article is a Featured Article (FA). It has already been reviewed and assessed as part of "Wikipedia's finest work" to earn that bronze star that appears in the upper corner of the article. FAs are not perfect, there is always the possibility of room for improvement. However, attempting to force improvements against the consensus of other editors is not how to do it. Trying to bully your way is OWNership and edit warring. Edit warring can earn you a block from editing, and in extreme cases, a ban from participation in the community of editors.
So one last time, I implore you to join the discussion on Talk:Toledo War, but don't revert the article again. Imzadi 1979  20:29, 17 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
