Hello and Debye edit

Hey Chris, in the article on the Debye-Hückel equation, you write "The paper deals with the calculation of properties of electrolyte solutions that are not under the influence of net electric fields, thus it deals with electrostatics" (emphasis added). But isn't this a definition of electrostatic equilibrium rather than electrostatics? By the way, welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for your wonderful contributions!

Lol. Great section title. What I was trying to say was that it deals with the case where there is no unbalanced force causing an (average) acceleration (to some eventual non-zero terminal velocity) of the ions. There are solutions where the ions are under the influence of a net electric field; these occur in electrochemical cells. ChrisChiasson 01:16, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process.
