Ojibwe language userboxes edit

Boozhoo Chimakwa. CJLippert and I have been discussing how to go about creating Ojibwe language userboxes here. Since I see you've made a box for the oj-1 level already, would you like to give your thoughts or opinions on what we've discussed already? Miigwech --Miskwito 22:28, 13 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Enaabadizid edit

Boozhoo, Chimakwa. enaabadizid is the changed conjunct (C-form) 3rd person singular of the VAI verb inaabadizi, "be used in such a way". So literally it means something like "[one] who s/he is used in such a way", I guess? I can see in- there, which is related to the preverb izhi- (its root is /iN-/), and so means "thus, in such a way"; -izi is a VAI verbal ending with a vague meaning like "be X". I don't have N&N with me here, so I don't know if inaabadizi appears there, but it is listed in the Freelang Ojibwe Dictionary (which CJLippert is the data-entry guy for), which if you haven't already you should definitely download. Take care, --Miskwito 22:10, 28 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

A funny thing happened as I e-walked through Bear-land edit

It really is a small world. I stopped by your user page, clicked on bear, from there, to an external link to a Bear site. As I paged through, I saw someone I recognized but couldn't quite remember. Following links provided, I realised that this person was my former co-worker's younger brother, and back when he lived away from his sibling, they would travel often to see each other... which is how I met my co-worker's younger brother, when he stopped by our work for a surprise visit. Not too many degrees of separation! CJLippert 01:29, 29 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Mudjekeewis article started edit

Aaniin niijii. I've started the Mudjekeewis article. Would you like to beef up the article from a "stub" to "start" or better (since he is the manidoo typified by a bear, upholding inner morality of strength of spirit... which made me think of you). CJLippert 21:07, 22 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedians belonging to the Bear Community edit

You should add [[Category:Wikipedians belonging to the Bear Community]] to your user page so your name will be added to the list. --Skyler :^| 21:46, 14 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Philip the Arab and Christianity edit

Hi Chimakwa

I realized you are a member of wikiproject religion. I'm GA reviewing this article and the author needs help to make it pass GA. I can't do it entirely because I'm the reviewer. The article needs to be restructured and there are two more sources that have to be integrated plus the sources they lead too because the interpretation of the ancient sources is disputed in science. Here they are(I can possibly send them to you as pdf; German is very similar to Dutch, try to read it with a book on German phonetics, I can also translate)

  1. Kaizer, Ted; The Variety of Local Religious Life in the Near East in the Hellenistic and Roman Periods; series: Religions in the Graeco-Roman World 164 (Leiden 2008) This book has a very high reputation
  2. [German] Girardet, Klaus M.; Die Konstantinische Wende. Voraussetzungen und geistige Grundlagen der Religionspolitik Konstantins des Großen, Darmstadt, Wissenschaftliche Buchgesellschaft, 2006 (book published by a renown scientific publishing house, shows that various "Christian" emperors weren't, among them Philippus Arabs)
