Welcome!

Hello, Cheekus, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Chris Cheek, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 18:39, 26 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but it appears you have written or added to an article about yourself, at Chris Cheek. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 14:45, 9 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

I would add that if you are Chris Cheek, you will need to confirm your identity with Wikipedia so that we know you are not an impersonator. Please send an email to the address listed at the end of the paragraph here. 331dot (talk) 14:46, 9 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

I would also add, in case you did not see the edit summary of the reversion, that you not being pleased with your performance is irrelevant to whether or not the listing of it is on the Wikipedia article about you. As Wikipedia summarizes what independent reliable sources state about a subject, your authorization is not required for an article about you to exist here. We want the article to be accurate, but per the autobiography policy you should avoid editing the article about you directly, instead suggesting changes on the article talk page(click "Talk" at the top of the article, then edit the following page normally). 331dot (talk) 14:55, 9 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, you may be blocked from editing. Thank you. 73.159.24.89 (talk) 15:20, 9 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion

edit

There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible conflict of interest incident with which you may be involved. Thank you. 73.159.24.89 (talk) 02:08, 10 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

With all due respect, I was just trying to update with factual information. I had asked that a CD I appeared on not be listed first, as it is only one of many and no reason to be listed first. My request was refused so I was merely updating with other sideman appearances, and included links to verify the validity of the recordings. Who decides what is relevant and actually takes the time to do the research to present a broader more realistic perspective? Now the entire discography portion has been taken down for some reason. At the very least, include the album 'Saturday Songs' that was released on Sunnyside records last year and note that this is the fifth album released as a leader. The current information regarding this is incorrect. Cheekus (talk) 03:13, 11 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

I hope it's better now. Not much can be done about having Leap of Faith first (putting everything in a sortable table by date would do it though)... record with someone beginning with 'A' perhaps? EddieHugh (talk) 15:53, 19 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
