Re: Jail Weddings

edit

Hello, I deleted the page both times because it didn't seem to meet, or come close to meeting, WP:MUSIC, our notability guideline for bands. All content in Wikipedia must meet a notability guideline in order to justify their inclusion. In this way, we're not flooded with articles about random people, their pets, etc. The article also was written in a somewhat promotional tone, something else we do not permit on Wikipedia. We try to encourage all of our articles to keep a neutral point of view so that the information we have can be shared as fairly and as clearly as possible.

I'm still not entirely convinced this meets notability guidelines, as very few if any of your sources appear to be reliable - most of them are blog posts, interviews, or event calendars, none of which can be used to establish notability. You need multiple sources that have non-trivial (more than a passing mention) unsolicited (not a press release or interview) from a third-party source (something that is not related to the band or Wikipedia).

If you'd like, I can restore the last version of the article and send it to articles for deletion for a full-length discussion involving multiple users over a period of about five days, but I'm fairly certain it will be deleted there as well. If you want me to do that, let me know, but first please review the policies and guidelines I've linked to above and try to review what you wrote from someone who knows nothing about the band. If you have any more questions, drop me a line. Hersfold (t/a/c) 15:39, 26 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of Jail Weddings

I have nominated Jail Weddings, an article you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jail Weddings. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
