2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs

edit

Responding to your message that the Eastern Conference seeds are set for this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs. You are wrong, and please stop wrongly editing that article. The eight teams who have qualified have been determined, and seeds 1 to 3 are set, but seeds 4 through 8 are NOT decided yet. The Flyers have two games remaining and have 97 points in the standings; the Hurricanes and Penguins also have 97 points but each have one game remaining. Until those games are played, seeds 4 through 6 cannot be determined for the obvious reason that the three teams' final point totals haven't yet been determined. Likewise, the Rangers and Montreal both have 93 points and one game remaining. If they finish with the same number of points, the Rangers will take the 7 seed because they would have one more win than the Canadiens. I'm a Capitals fan, so believe me, I've been watching the standings VERY closely, and we do not yet know which team the Caps will play. You can read this blog entry from the Washington Post's Capitals beat reporter for confirmation (it was posted after Thursday night's games).

Your enthusiasm for hockey is great, but please get the facts straight before admonishing those of us who have deleted the wrongful seeding. The Stanley Cup Playoffs article isn't intended to be an "if the season ended now" table. 1995hoo (talk) 19:16, 10 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
