Speedy deletion nomination of Charles Andrew Howell III

Status and Advice

As reviewing administrator, I think it does indicate notability, so it will not be speedily deleted on that ground. But see our rules about Conflict of Interest. As they say, even with Conflict of Interest you may edit, provided you do so objectively. It is not advised, because experience shows that a person will have great difficulty writing an objective article about themselves or their relatives. As a general rule, a suitable page will be best written by someone without Conflict of Interest; it's not impossible to do it properly with a conflict of interest , but it's relatively more difficult: you are automatically thinking in terms of what you wish to communicate to the public, but an uninvolved person will think in terms of what the public might wish to know.

The article needs to show notability with references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases. As the article is about a living person, everything needs to be documented from such a source. You also need to write like an encyclopedia article, not a press release--don't use adjective of praise or excessive family details, of minor occupational or avocational matters. Include only the material that would be of interest to a general reader coming across the name, and wanting the sort of information that would be found in an encyclopedia. Remember not to copy from a web site -- first it's a copyright violation, but, even if you give us permission according to WP:DCM, the tone will not be encyclopedic and the material will not be suitable. If anything has been so copied, rewrite it briefly.

For further information see our WP:BIO and WP:AUTOBIO , and also WP:FIRST. I advise you to improve this article very quickly, before the article gets deleted by a regular deletion process. I do not want to discourage you, but to urge you to write a proper article if it is possible; if it is not yet possible, please help us by improving our other articles on matters of interest to you.
