editThis Admin notice board entry covers the concerns over many troubled teen program articles in wikipedia. Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/IncidentArchive208#OTRS_related_assistance_needed Some clean up was performed but much work is still to be done. The main problem is with the article titled Behavior modification facility. This article is not factually based, Behavior Modification is a concept not an actual place. Furthermore, a behavior modification facility would be not strictly focused on "adolescents who are perceived as displaying antisocial behavior". It appears to be an activism article intended to discredit residential treatment programs for teens.
The lead section is an opinion piece and all the subject material is covered more comprehensively in other articles. The controversy section has been repeated in the following articles Therapeutic boarding schools, Residential treatment center.
The first version of this article consisted of the following statement: "A Behavior Modification Facility is a private, residential educational institution to which parents send disobedient children in an attempt to improve their conduct. A number of such facilities are operated in the United States. Others operate in Mexico, Jamaica, Costa Rica, but are run primarily for the children of U.S. parents."
