Re: Tom Willmore edit

I don't think he should be referred to as a "differential geometer", geometer alone seems more natural.

I also fixed the wiki links for "relativistic cosmology" to point to a more helpful article at Physical cosmology.

Do you know if Willmore's conjecture has been proven? I found what appears to be a proof, but am not sure if it has been accepted as later literature seems to still refer to it being unknown.

Jon, from what I've read I don't know if it has been proved (I don't claim to be an expert, though). In every reference I've seen, it's been "The Willmore Conjecture", even by John Bolton himself. I'd be interested to see the link you have, however. Oh, and thanks for the pointer, you probably have more astronomy-related knowledge than I do, even though you didn't do that module :-P.
Since he covered Gen Rel you might have more info than me, so feel free to play around with the article. I won't go public with it until I'm happy. — cBuckley (TalkContribs) 01:05, 3 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Here is the link to the "proof" I found . It was presented at a Durham Pure Maths Colloquium in 2002. So if John Bolton is still referring to it as a conjecture then I guess the proof was found lacking. --Jpowell 09:40, 3 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
