deletions etc edit

"someone took my short edit history into account to deny the speedy delete" "To me its obvious, but did that fail because of my history? or just because it was contested meaning it had to go through the more 'official' debate process?"

It is hard to be taken seriously as a very new editor- you might like to write a word or two on your user page so it's not a red link. But if you look on the edit summary you'll see she went to the WP:BLP noticeboard complaining- they tend to be kind to a subject's wishes there, but they shouldn't have done that IMHO but should have looked at the article on its own merits. It says a lot that no-one would remove the prod who naturally came across the article, she had to go out of her way to ask someone who doesn't know her work to do so.

"Also, I felt like I really had to justify my position, so I did a LOT of research. It was actually fun! However, after I posted, it seemed like I went WAAAAY above and beyond what other articles had posted about them. It wasn't really a waste of time since it was kinda fun, but am I better off just putting a short sentence or two to sum up my point of view and let others make their own opinions? I realize that I may have left little room to argue for saving the page (even though i did suggest adding content to other relevant articles) and my opinion may have dominated the debate.

I tried reading some etiquette articles to see if these topics were addressed, but I didn't really see anything relevant. Thanks again!"

I think it was good that you discussed the sources, otherwise someone casually considering the AfD might think her telly etc appearances and films were more notable than they really are. You have pre-empted some of the arguments people might make, which is good, as otherwise we'd only have had to reply to them and say all that anyway.:) The Sony fair video thing showed the reality of it - she was interviewed just because she dressed up as a blue elf:) I'm also going to report this to a noticeboard that monitors WP:COI.Sticky Parkin 12:29, 15 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's gone.:) What do you think you'll edit next?:) Sticky Parkin 23:54, 18 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

NES culture edit

Hello! You seem to be on somewhat of a rampage against NES culture spinoffs. I understand the possible lack of notability but is there any thing more specific bothering you about them? I agree that these bands and stuff won't be included in WP 1.0 but as long as it's NPOV and notable to a good sized segment of society, why not let it ride. An interesting check to do is too use grok.se to check how many page views these thing get.Joe407 (talk) 10:42, 15 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
