I've been busy edit

I recall you wanted some Super Furry Animals references added. What articles/reviews did you need? WesleyDodds (talk) 07:14, 1 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi Wesley, sorry I've been really busy recently so haven't been doing much Wiki stuff. At the minute I'm working on Rings Around the World and it's three singles. I'm ok with references from these as there's still the odd interview from that time available on the web and I've managed to get a few contemporary magazines from eBay. Everything pre-2001 is proving hard work though. Only thing I have is a Melody Maker interview around the time of Guerrilla's release but it's mostly nonsense about drug taking and so on. Anything that discusses recording, meanings of songs for early albums and singles would be fantastic (especially "The Man Don't Give a Fuck"). Reviews are easier to get hold of but I'd still appreciate anything you can find, particularly reviews of the singles. The one more recent release that I'm struggling with is Songbook: The Singles, Vol. 1. I've only found eight reviews and, as the band didn't really promote it, the brief mention in the Incendiary Magazine interview in the lead is the only thing I've found where they directly discuss it.
I know that the alternative music group collaborated on The Stone Roses a while back but it's still only C class and I wondered if you'd be interested in collaborating on the article with me to get it to GA? I have lots of books and articles so it should be fairly easy. Cavie78 (talk) 13:47, 1 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
I'm willing to help. I was simply too busy during the original collaboration to give it my all. I do have the 33 1/3 series book on it, so anything you have reference-wise would be a great help. I used to own this really awesome two-disc self-titled DVD about the group, but I lent it out to someone and never got it back. WesleyDodds (talk) 07:13, 2 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hey, some of the points in the "Hand in Glove" GA review have been addressed. The rest require me to check out a library book, which I am unable to do until Monday on my side of the globe. WesleyDodds (talk) 10:07, 26 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fixed now. After re-reading the book, I simply had to remove half a sentence. WesleyDodds (talk) 07:18, 29 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry! edit

Hi, I appologise profusely for missing the last 2 steps in the Phantom Power promotion. I've never done that before, I seemingly got distracted by something and didn't realise I'd not finished it. Anyway, I fixed it now but sorry about that... rst20xx (talk) 09:54, 1 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

No worries! Cavie78 (talk) 13:34, 1 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

"The only confusion was, I think we all thought they were women. Kim was obviously a woman, but they all had this shaved-headed, pretty, soft look. And there were lots of lesbian bands at the time, and we always got booked with them, so we just thought the Pixies were another, like maybe they were like angry divorcees or somthing that formed a band.'" - Kristin Hersh

Where You Go I Go Too edit

Haha, I completely forgot about a personnel section. I'll get that done soon. I didn't know WP:Albums had a GA assessment; that will help a bunch. Thanks! -- Noj r (talk) 19:14, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Rachel Goswell‎ edit

I see you removed the prod on this article stating that the subject is notable because coverage in 3rd party sources exists. However, the article still is unreferenced. Could you add citations to the article to ensure that it meets notability guidelines?--RadioFan (talk) 17:25, 1 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Juxtapozed edit

Hi Cavie. I've started my review for your Super Furry Animals nom. It's on hold for a week to get some minor things out of the way. Great job on all the Super Furry Animals articles. Keep it up! Andrzejbanas (talk) 23:43, 2 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I always have problem with Welsh edit

Question: how do you pronounce "Ysbeidiau Heulog"? WesleyDodds (talk) 13:33, 28 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

I don't speak Welsh so this may be entirely wrong but I think it's I-(as in the I from Ink)-spade-I(same as first syllable)-eye Hey-log. Suffice to say I won't be putting this bit of non-information in the article! Cavie78 (talk) 22:00, 28 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

RiL music sample edit

The ten-percent/thirty-second fair use rule is a debunked standard and shouldn't be in a Wikipedia guideline. US and EU copyright law allows the use of as much, or as little, as necessary to prove your point with critical commentary. I followed the 10% rule out of courtesy more than anything. I could have used much more since the critical commentary is pretty detailed and sourced and is also present in the rationale of the file. It's a nice rule of thumb to stop excess but let's not amend US and EU copyright law. RB88 (T) 19:30, 11 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Trans...Europe...Express edit

Hi Cavie, I've taken a stab at re-working the Trans-Europe Express article per your review. I think I've fixed it all except the input from Hutter and Schneider. Despite being the most prominent members of Kraftwerk, they are also the least vocal and barely do interviews. From the ones I've gathered, they barely talk about anything with their albums so It's not very useful. Thanks for helping out with the review! Tell me if there is anything else needing fixing.205.211.50.10 (talk) 16:33, 15 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Whups that was me. Didn't realize I was not signed in. Andrzejbanas (talk) 16:36, 15 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Umm, not sure if I should report to you about this either, but User:Feline1 has been reverting edits as soon as the GA review started. This user is constantly blocked 1, 2 and likes to vandalize articles I've worked on sometimes. 1. So I hope this does not cause any problems for the GA review! Andrzejbanas (talk) 21:40, 15 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi Andrzejbanas, I've replied on the Trans Europe Express talk page. Happy to keep the GA on hold 'til you and Feline1 can sort out your differences. Cavie78 (talk) 15:18, 16 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
