Hi Cau1khead!

I have noticed you now making numerous edits to Isle of Wight related articles amoungst others and just wanted to say thank you for all your work so far. It's always nice to see new editors joining and producing good material for the articles. Anyway since you have shown an interest in Isle of Wight related articles I thought you might be interested in joining the Isle of Wight WikiProject. From here, all island articles are managed. Regular assessments are carried out and ideas for article improvement are suggested. I look forward to seeing more of your edits, take care Editor5807speak 20:34, 22 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

SV route 1

edit

Hi there, I've been watching your excellent contributions on beefing up the earlier histories of some of the SV route articles. Just one thing though, on Southern Vectis route 1, when it says in 1996 it went via the Round House, there's nothing mentioned in the article explaining when it changed from that to when it started running via Somerton, park and ride, Mill Hill Road, Victoria Road, to the Pontoon. Do you know when the routeing changed? Obviously if so, then could you add it do the article please? Thanks, Arriva436talk/contribs 17:21, 1 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Oh and also, just out of personal interest, what's happened to the bus only traffic lights now? Are the no entry except buses signs still up there? I think the Christmas Lights Tour I went on in 2008 did go out that way, even though service buses don't any more. Arriva436talk/contribs 17:27, 1 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Ely Hospital

edit

Hi, I reverted your change to Ely Hospital to restore the date of closure to 1996. Two sources are cited for 1996, and one is The Hospital Records Database at The National Archives, which I assess as being highly reliable. You indicated that you worked at the hospital after this and I realise that it is frustrating for your corrections to Wikipedia to be reverted, but Wikipedia is supposed to be based on relable sources, and we should not allow unsupported personal memories to override a reliable source. Regards, Verbcatcher (talk) 20:55, 31 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

This video explains then apparent discrepancy between the two dates. Announced in 1996 and closed in 1998. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zF_SRs096I4 Cau1khead (talk) 11:24, 27 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I have just noticed your reply. This video is not a reliable source, as it was not published by a reputable organisation and it is contradictory: is is titled 'Celebrating social movement since Ely Hospital Closure 20 years ago' and was published in 2016. I am not questioning your memory, and it possible that the hospital did stay open in some form after its official closure date. Perhaps parts of the building operated for a couple of years under a different name, maybe as a branch of another hospital. There might be a news report that mentions the 'final closure' of the hospital in 1998, but I have not found one. Verbcatcher (talk) 19:20, 22 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
