Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

edit

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.

For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 21:06, 15 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Keep up the good work!

Kell Factor

edit

I am not sure why you reversed the minor change I made to the Wikipedia:Kell Factor entry (not that I really care either way). The statement in question was grammatically incorrect and awkward: "frequency patterns when displaying the image in a discrete display devices..." I think you should either remove the "a" article or use singular: e.g. "device" not "devices." --Jdedek (talk) 00:08, 5 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

i'm not vandalising i am just adding facts — Preceding unsigned comment added by AnnabelleDodd (talkcontribs) 18:36, 26 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

It seems that the facts you were adding might have been considered vandalism as you are currently blocked for it. Although they were facts, they might not have been needed in that specific article. Carmichael95 [TALK] | [CONTRIBS] 00:31, 27 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Toast

edit

Hi,

Naturally, tisn't your fault, and it's certainly my responsibility. But unusually for an automated tool user (heh!) I'm very careful about what I'm doing so there is some digging to be done, as I'm fairly sure I wouldn't have made that sort of mistake, so I need to look at the circumstances to see if it was Stiki or me. Nevertheless, it certainly shouldn't have happened, and consequently please do accept my apologies. Keep up the good work! :) Egg Centric 00:37, 27 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Addition: Yes, seems bizarre. There was definitely an automatic warning given to yourself, but I can't see why it happened; furthermore, if the tool is working correctly then it will only give you a warning if it is reverting something. So I will take it to the tool's creator and we'll see what happens. Again, ever so sorry about this. Egg Centric 00:40, 27 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

The scandinavian flick and the Saab

edit

Growing up on the swedish rally circuit in the seventies I can say this for sure: the Saab 96 was common, the Mini not. Yet the scandinavian flick was in heavy use by the Saab-drivers, hence my adding. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.179.51.139 (talk) 19:41, 4 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your edit had blanked the majority of the page. I was not intentionally trying to mess you up...if you would like to edit the page, feel free. However be sure not to 'blank' the page as it will most likely be reverted within a few minutes. carmichael [TALK] | [CONTRIBS] 20:16, 21 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Select Survey Invite

edit

I'm working on a study of political motivations and how they affect editing. I'd like to ask you to take a survey. The survey should take no more than 1-2 minutes. Your survey responses will be kept private. Our project is documented at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Wikipedia_%2B_Politics.

Your survey Link: http://uchicago.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9S3JByWf57fXEkR?Q_DL=56np5HpEZWkMlr7_9S3JByWf57fXEkR_MLRP_2hor7kaUeSLozWt&Q_CHL=gl

I am asking you to participate in this study because you are a frequent editor of pages on Wikipedia that are of political interest. We would like to learn about your experiences in dealing with editors of different political orientations.

Sincere thanks for your help! Porteclefs (talk) 01:09, 12 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
