Club Mahindra Holidays edit

Hi

Apologies for the "spam"; I'm writing to you and other editors because you have edited the Club Mahindra Holidays article recently.

Concern has been expressed that the article is too promotional and is about a non-notable subject. I do not necessarily agree with this, however I am concerned that unless these issues are addressed then the article may be deleted. I am therefore asking for your help in improving the article, and wish to make the following suggestions:

  • The article should avoid being a promotional vehicle for Club Mahindra: the article should adhere to Wikipedia's policies of neutral point of view.
  • The article should avoid being an attack on Club Mahindra: while some criticism is to be expected the article should not be an attack page.
  • Positive and negative comments about Club Mahindra should be referenced by reliable sources such as major newspapers and business magazines.
  • Controversial claims - either for or against Club Mahindra - should be discussed on the article's talk page.

Once again, apologies for disturbing you with this matter but I hope I can look forward to working with you on improving this article!

Hi
A few points:
  1. I haven't decided to put the article up on Wikipedia; we, as a community, have. I didn't create the article, and have barely edited it except to add references.
  2. As a community we agree to abide by the community's policies, such as WP:NPOV.
  3. Much of the criticism and praise that has appeared in the article in the past has been unreferenced.
  4. I became involved with the article when it was being used a little more than an attack page to criticise the company.
  5. I "spammed" various editors when the article's emphasis had shifted to little more than an advertisement for the company - largely unreferenced - prompting one editor to nominate the article for deletion. My intention was to encourage editors to prevent the article being deleted, by maintaining Wikipedia's policies.
I hope this clarifies why I contacted you.

Thank you for a very wise and philosophical reply! I intend to heed your advice! Best wishes, This flag once was redpropagandadeeds 18:34, 8 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Aditi Technologies edit

I've rolled back your recent deletions at the Aditi Technologies page. Please consider tagging articles appropriately and sourcing claims before removing content. Thanks! Walker9010 (talk) 04:42, 21 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Caccophonix, you seem to have misunderstood. I'm not defending the information in the article, nor did I write it. I'm objecting to arbitrary deletion. I applaud that you've chosen to add a tag--that is the correct course of action before deleting. Even better would be to fix the problem! I reviewed your contributions and it seems you are inclined towards Indian software companies. So, why not help wikipedia and add sources? Happy editing! Re: Help with Tagging edit

It depends on what kind of tags you're interested in, and I doubt I've found all of them yet!

The ones I tend to use are probably to do with references: {{Unreferenced}} and {{fact}} for tagging an article and an individual claim, respectively. I've used {{when}} today, to indicate that a sentence needed to clarify when an event occured, and I've used how? recently in a similar manner.

I've just found Wikipedia:Template messages, which seems to be a master list, though it isn't very easy to read or use - that may be of some use if you have a particular tag in mind.

Hope that helps - if not, let me know what you're interested in doing and I'll see if I can help some more.
