July 2015 edit

Hello, I'm 331dot. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 21:35, 24 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "CSU-ACI", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it seems to be the name of an organization. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 21:35, 24 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:CSU-ACI, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: Click here to contest this speedy deletion which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy deletion candidate). Doing so will take you to your user talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also edit this page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would help make it encyclopedic. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Whpq (talk) 01:03, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Contested deletion edit

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because: 1. This page is a not-for-profit organization. 2. This page is intended to inform CSU Australia Alumni in Indonesia that we have an official CSU Alumni Chapter Indonesia that has been endorsed by CSU. 3. The main objectives of CSU-ACI is to togetherly built the network and chapter so that all participating alumni can perform and deliver tangible contributions to societies.

Being a non-profit organization is nice, but doesn't change that the page was promotional. Wikipedia is not free web space for you to inform people or your members about your organization. Please see this FAQ page for more information. As stated below, usernames cannot be that of an organization; they must identify an individual user; "Joe at CSU" would be an acceptable username. 331dot (talk) 08:23, 25 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

July 2015 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy. It also appears that your account is intended to be used for the purpose of telling the world about an organization, person or cause that you consider worthwhile. Unfortunately, many good causes are not sufficiently notable for their own Wikipedia article, and all users are discouraged from editing in any area where they have an inherent conflict of interest. You may wish to consider one of these alternative outlets.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you.
