Duplicate Image:IMG 3906.JPG

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:IMG 3906.JPG, by Staeckerbot (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:IMG 3906.JPG is a duplicate of an already existing article, category or image.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:IMG 3906.JPG, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 15:48, 23 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Non-free use disputed for Image:UH11 winning podium Silverstone.JPG

edit
  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:UH11 winning podium Silverstone.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 01:22, 24 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Class 3 Winners 2007 FSUK.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 17:15, 22 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

FSAE Team Infobox proposal

edit

Hi, I've moved the thread to a subpage where it can be worked upon, template documentatoin sorted out and discussion page can be used to discuss the infobox's development.

When ready (which it is not currently), then teh template goes "live" by moving it from Wikipedia:List of infoboxes/Proposed/FSAE Team Infobox to just FSAE Team Infobox (the documentation and discussion talk page example will need hand editing to point to the real template's name).

I wonder though:

  1. Is there a racing Wikiproject we can "call in" to look at teh proposal and check whether it conforms to oterh motor racing infoboxes (I presume there are ones fro F1, indicar etc).
  2. Are the parameter names as well chosen as they can be
  3. How many drivers need be lists - is it always 2, or does the template need allow for say 3 or 4 drivers ?

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Chief_Officer.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:10, 29 November 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 11:10, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of UH Racing

edit

I have nominated UH Racing, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/UH Racing. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. An article you created is about to be deleted: Tools which can help you

edit

The article you created, UH_Racing is about to be deleted from Wikipedia.

There is an ongoing debate about whether your article should be deleted here:

The faster your respond, the better chance the article you created can be saved. This is because deletion debates only stay open for a few days, and the first comments are usually the most important.

There are several tools and other editors who can help you keep the page from being deleted forever:

  1. You can list the page up for deletion on Article Rescue Squadron. If you need help listing your page, add a comment on the Article Rescue Squadron talk page.
  2. You can request a mentor to help explain to you all of the complex rules that editors use to get a page deleted, here: Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User. But don't wait for a mentor to respond on the deletion page.
  3. When try to delete a page, veteran editors love to use a lot of rule acronyms. Don't let these acronyms intimidate you.
Here is a list of your own acronyms you can use yourself: WP:Deletion debate acronyms which may support the page you created being kept.
Acronyms in deletion debates are sometimes incorrectly used, or ignore rules or exceptions.
  4. You can merge the article into a larger article.

If your page is deleted, you still have many options available. Good luck! travb (talk) 18:55, 29 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

UH Racing

edit

Hi, and thanks for your message. The article was redirected as a result of the community discussion here. Arguments were basically around the team not being not notable.

You mention there are some additional notable aspects of the team, such as inventing a hydrogen-powered racing car? If so, and this can be referenced to reliable sources, it might be enough to justify a new version of the article. Please note just being the first to race a hydrogen-powered car is probably not enough, and either way the entire subject needs better sources - see this page for what that means.

So that you can keep working on the article and maybe add some sources and evidence of notability, I've created a copy of it at User:Burgeian/UH Racing. Feel free to add material at there, and when you think it's ready post it back into the main encyclopedia. It's important to note there would need to be substantial improvements to it - if it was essentially the same article as before it is likely to be automatically redirected again.

Feel free to let me know if I can be of any further help with this, or any other issue. Euryalus (talk) 00:58, 12 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Seeing as no one else has told you yet, there is a proposal to delete the User:Burgeian/UH Racing subpage in your namespace. You may recall I userfied this at your request in January 2009.

File permission problem with File:Class 3 Winners 2007 FSUK.JPG

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Class 3 Winners 2007 FSUK.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 00:09, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
