Speedy deletion nomination of Croxley Green Business Park

edit

A tag has been placed on Croxley Green Business Park, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Creating articles that 'stick'

edit

Don't apologise for creating the above article! That's how Wikipedia grows.

However, it is very hard for a newcomer to create an article from scratch that isn't quickly deleted! I didn't create my first article until I'd been editing on and off for a couple of years. I have only created two substantial articles (World Aircraft Information Files and William Stanley (Victorian inventor)), but by then I had a good awareness of what is expected.

None of the articles that I have created so far (there is a list at Articles I created (some may have been stubs) - excludes redirect pages on my user page at User:Phantomsteve#Other Stuff) have been deleted, and only one of them was under threat of deletion (Manish Pitambare) and that was discussed, with the result that it should be kept.

This does not mean that any article I created would be kept though - I just made sure that the ones I created had references from the beginning showing notability.

Don't give up! This article may or may not survive - even if it isn't speedily deleted, there are other ways in which it could still be deleted - basically because there is insufficient evidence of its notability. However, that shouldn't (hopefully) put you off contributing to the encyclopedia - as a general rule, it is best to start by adding information (suitably referenced to current articles.

I have placed a welcome message above this section - it contains useful links, which I would advise you to read - they show what can be included in the encyclopedia, and how to do it!

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, either here on your talk page, or on my talk page (via the "contact me" link in my signature).
