AfD nomination of In The Past Toys

edit

An editor has nominated In The Past Toys, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/In The Past Toys and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Seyran Shahsuvaryan

edit

A tag has been placed on Seyran Shahsuvaryan, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Seyran Shahsuvaryan and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 05:49, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello, it is not blatant advertising. The man has a wikiquote page and as such, is connected to Mikael Harutyunyan and Seyran Ohanyan, whom are already on wikipedia for long time now. Please remove the tag, i will work on fixing the page to reach needed criteria. - Brendan Filone (talk) 05:52, 10 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

DYK: Gevork Vartanian

edit

Hi. I've nominated Gevork Vartanian, an article you worked on, for consideration to appear on the Main Page as part of Wikipedia:Did you know. You can see the hook for the article at Template talk:Did you know#Articles created/expanded on May 10, where you can improve it if you see fit. If possible, please add more references and inline citations. Thanks, PFHLai (talk) 01:30, 13 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've withdrawn the DYK nomination. A few paragraphs of this article appears to be copy-&-pasted from an article from http://rbth.rg.ru/articles/lion_and_bear.html (Ref.#3), and therefore a likely case of copyright violation. Please replace all copied text and rewrite the article. Thanks. --PFHLai (talk) 16:21, 15 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

PFHLai, the article you cited is now 404, which makes life a little difficult.
It's not clear where all the hyperbolic phrases and words come from, but this article doesn't read anything like an encyclopedia. Lots of cliches, inflationary language and questionable statements that aren't cited. "at all costs" "Nazi radio operators weren't fools" "and no wonder" "put their lives on the line".
Because of its sources, this whole article is suspect.

Orphaned non-free media (Image:ZarbonForms.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:ZarbonForms.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:11, 12 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Kalten.PNG

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Kalten.PNG. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 17:38, 12 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
