Christian denomination PNG graphic

edit

BreadBran, can you please explain on Talk:Christian denomination why you think we should use your PNG? With respect, it looks like all you did is run the SVG File:ChristianityBranches.svg through a conversion filter, deleted the text "early Christianity" from the left branch, and came up with File:ChristianBranches.png. It doesn't seem to me that this offers anything the old graphic did not offer.

Wikipedia apparently has consensus favoring the use of SVGs over PNGs where possible for things like drawings, charts, etc (please see WP:IUP#FORMAT); that is why your edits are being reverted. (on that topic, I would urge you to be aware of the three-revert rule, which asks editors not to make more than three reversions in a 24-hour period) Please, before making this edit again, would you kindly talk about your reasons for wanting this change on the talk page? Thank you,

You have been asked to discuss your reasons for replacing the image in this article with the .png version you've established, but you have yet to comment on the discussion page. Instead, you continue to revert those who restore the pre-existing .svg image. This is edit warring and is considered disruptive. Please refrain from altering the image again without first discussing the matter. If you continue your current course of action, it could result in a block. You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours to prevent further disruption caused by your engagement in an edit war at Christian denomination. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. Shimeru (talk) 19:23, 16 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
