Welcome, and a caution

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It is clear you have much to offer here.

I note your recent constructive edits to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the similarity of your user name to the name of an author whose book you mentioned in text you added to the article. In that light I would call your attention to the fact that Wikipedia frowns on inclusion of "personal research" in the text of articles. Theoretically, all information should be tracable to published documents, whether on paper or electronically. Basically, secondary rather than primary sources seem to be preferred. In this light, it is preferred that the author of a publication not be the one to reference it or use it as a source in Wikipedia. Pzavon (talk) 02:49, 2 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thank you very much for the advice. I truly was hoping that such an article was already written (about Public Health Advisors). Sadly, I am the only history of them, and have cited as many original sources as possible (see the many sources referenced in foot notes). As a first article, it will certainly need improvement. My plan is to upload some photos and to improve the text. I have invited several colleagues to help develop the article, and this will (I hope) minimize the appearance that I am trying to promote something of my own authorship.

File source problem with File:Tony Masso Niger 1967.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:Tony Masso Niger 1967.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
