Font specimens edit

How do you create them?--Kopiersperre (talk) 20:50, 17 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi! It's quite easy. I tend to do it simply in Microsoft Word. I use the layout of GearedBull as here (I think he has stopped editing Wikipedia mostly), but creating my own templates from coloured text boxes. (These tend to vary a bit from font to font for me unlike for him.) Then export to pdf, crop and conversion to .png. Up till now I have mostly created pictures for individual font articles but I have tried recently to create some for individual designers who have designed enough fonts to make it worth it-so for Lange, Goudy and Novarese among others. Ok, thanks for information. Sadly I'm on Linux and looking for a way to create SVG font specimens. I will try to ask GearedBull.--Kopiersperre (talk) 16:40, 4 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
Sorry I can't help. I believe he used Quark, but I can't remember where I saw that. Blythwood (talk) 19:39, 4 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

No problem. Had been meaning to get enough sources to make it a viable article (it's a much bigger river than the name suggests) but rather moved onto other interests. I have the text saved in case I want to bring it back. Blythwood (talk) 15:25, 23 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
