Clapton page edit

I added some comments on the Clapton talk page. It may help you in getting your content included in the article(in the right place) correctly. Perhaps you should read some of the Wiki policies regarding editing. They are a great help. Some key ones are WP:MoS, WP:CITE, WP:NPOV, WP:NOR, WP:AWW and WP:LEAD. All are worth reading. Even if you can build some text you feel should go in the article(or any article) you can add it to the talk page and ask for other editors to help cite, copyedit and balance it before it "goes live" in the main article. Simply re-adding the same thing over and over can get you into trouble as it can out you in violation of WP:3RR and comes across as simply trying to make a point Hope this helps. Good day and good luck as a Wikipedian. 216.21.150.44 12:12, 27 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

The sock-puppetry that's been coming my way from New Brunswick, Canada seems to me to be in violation of WP:SOCK.

You're suggesting I fly from Vancouver to the east coast multiple times a day to rv your edits? You may do an IP search on me if you wish...I don't mind if it'll put you at ease. My suggestions were only to try and assist you. Your edits required help and I gave it to you. You were pushing 3RR the other day which can get you blocked. Since you are getting familiar with Wiki policy you should read WP:AGF, WP:NOT and WP:NPA. You have an multiple IP's, an admin and a MightyMoose all trying to make sure your content is valid, verified and in the proper context for an encyclopedic BIO. Don't push them away just because they view your contributions differently then you do. It's a good community(for the most part) that just wants to create something unique. You'll be a welcomed part of it if you work with everyone rather than soapbox your ideas. Also, sign your talk page edits with 4 [tildes ~] Good day and good luck. 216.21.150.44 20:58, 27 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

I know perfectly well you are in Vancouver. However, several of the other posts originated from the same part of New Brunswick. It looked to me as if there was a co-ordinated attempt to get around the 3 reverts rule that you had told me about. What is it with you Canucks and worshipping EC? Presumably I can just change it back twice daily and stay within the rules here. I'll refrain from that course of action for now. More to the point, the ignorance of some of the other posts is staggering to me. The latest one that says: "So, what is wrong with voting for Enoch Powell?" takes the proverbial biscuit. What is depressing about it, is that it seeks implicitly to justify an anti-immigration stance in the present in order to validate Clapton's past conduct. These things are controversial everywhere! except, it would seem, when it comes to the blemish-free life and work of the great Eric Clapton! I described it as extreme because it was extreme. Enoch was fired from the CONSERVATIVE government for provoking racial hatred for goodness sake and that was long before the days of political correctness. OK, Clapton never did anything bad or dubious, war is peace, lies are truth and most importantly, on Wikipedia ignorance seems to be strength. (Blue Guitar)

I am glad to hear you weren't making accusations in my direction. To my best recollection I have tried to help and been nothing but civil in our brief discussions. I did a bit of a background check on the other Anon IPs from back east. Both are Aliant customers. The 3 Atlantic provinces only have 2 ISPs...with Aliant(a sub of Bell Canada) having the lions share of the business. All Aliant servers are based in Saint John but handle a potential customer base of 2 million people. That your particular IPs are the same person is unlikely although I obviously don't know for sure...I am simply assuming good faith. Use the talk pages the best you can. You'll find that most editors are working toward the same goal and not against each other...as you seem to think now. Wikipedia is not a cabal. You'll see. Good day! 216.21.150.44 12:27, 29 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
