Code page 850 code table removed

edit

You removed the entire code page table in Code page 850 in this edit, on the claim that it was ISO 8859-1 instead of CP 850. As I understand it, that is what CP 850 is supposed to be. Massive deletions like this are usually not the right thing to do, at least not without some talk page discussion first; correcting the table is the more appropriate thing to do, not removing it entirely. Please discuss this on the talk page first. — Loadmaster (talk) 16:36, 9 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Re-adding the wrong code page table is the right thing to do? My edit was actually the deletion of one single section, that contained obviously bogous code page table. Deleting that (obviously) completely wrong section is a massive change that requires deiscussion? Sorry, I didn't know this rule. But if you think that cp850 is the same as iso8859-1 then please take the time and read some more about this topic before making (or undoing) more edits on this topic. You can have a look at the German Wikipedia site if you want to see the right code page table for cp850. Bjacke
I'm not sure where the disconnect is, but the character sets listed at Microsoft's MSDN site (here) and at IBM's site (here) are both exactly the same as the chart in the WP article (as far as I can tell). — Loadmaster (talk) 20:37, 9 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
sorry for the confusion, I just see I was misreading the content of the table. Thanks for looking critical at the change. Bjacke
No problem. Probably either not enough or too much caffeine. — Loadmaster (talk) 02:07, 11 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
