Matariki

edit

The onus is on you to provide a source for your edits. See WP:ONUS. If you cannot find a suitable source, then it appears you have an idea which has occurred to no reasonable authority. In this case, see the policy on no original research.-gadfium 09:26, 29 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

How so? The subject of the article and many of the claims and assertions within the article itself are entirely lacking in verifiable substance. No objective support is evident for "Matariki" and few or no impartial and unbiased sources are listed. Not surprising since there are none to be found. The "Matariki" tale is a complete fabrication. No one honest within NZ's astronomical community would tell you any different. That is, if they weren't so terrified of being labeled "racist" and being ostracized and cut off from funding. The onus is on you to provide sources, but you have refused to do so. In good faith, I have provided some. Te Ara is a highly regarded source, and the other is a respectable print publication long preceding the date you think this "conspiracy" began. Since you reject these sources as "Just more of the same old tall tale spinning", it is clear you are trolling, and so I am blocking you. If you want to provide sources to pursue your ideas, please add them to this talk page.-gadfium 08:35, 31 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

Either you have no understanding of how this evidence thing works or you're just another Matariki shill. The fact you've blocked me suggests the latter. Here are the facts: Before those with vested interests and no integrity began this crusade to create something out of nothing, nobody in astronomy or science in general had ever heard of "Matariki" or anything related to it. The whole thing came as rather a surprise to everyone sometime in the very early 2000s. It quickly became apparent to all that speaking out against the patent dishonesty of the thing -- or even simply asking questions -- would be akin to saying "Funding? No thanks!" and so silence reigns and the ridiculous Matariki charade continues unabated. A shame about the deceit and the cowardice, but that's cultural politics for you. Good luck with your lies. I hope it works out. (Actually, no, I don't.) Bingbongbingbingbong (talk) 12:17, 1 August 2018 (UTC)Reply
