Mr. Stain semi automated peer review

• The script is not perfect and does make mistakes. To check for the "vague terms of size", I search for each in the article with search function of my web browser. For example, the word "some" appears in the article three times, once in a direct quote (no need to change that). The words "variety / number/ majority" do not appear at all. "Any" is in it twice, "several", "few" and "many" each appear once, and "all" is there five times. I would look at each occurence and decide if it is worth keeping or not - don't get rid of them just to get rid of them, but my guess is some of the "all" occurrences could go. As for a copyedit, you could try putting in a request at WP:LOCE or ask on the talk page of any WIkiprojects this article falls under. Hope this helps, Ruhrfisch _><>°^° 21:41, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

          • My understanding is that dates that are a day, month and year are wikilinked (so January 18 2008 is), but just days or months or years (or day and month) are not. I looked through Mr. Stain fairly carefully but could not find a day or month by itself that was linked or even a day and month without a year, like January 18. It may be a bug in the PR script. If I had seen the show myself I would try to copyedit some, but without the background knowledge I fear I would make mistakes or omissions. Mr. Stain

Hello. I don't know if you read my follow-up response on your article on my talk page, so I'm reposting here with additional remarks.

For the episodes, a table approach might look cleaner and more compact, such as found in the GA Smallville (season 1) or Cold Feet (series 5) episodes list. Obviously, the example headers would need to be modified and the layout changed. I'm not sure how the episode screencaps could be integrated.

Why are the episodes are called Volumes in the article section? Aren't they called Episodes in the series?

The write-ups on a few of the episodes don't exactly match the official site write-ups. The article describes Clay as fashioning a bust, but the site says it's only a face (mask?). In 'Fishing rod', the site mentions multiple baby fish and their mother; in the article it reads like a single baby and mentions a father, i.e. "the baby of the fish yearning for his father".

I've taken out several common word wikilinks, but have left in several I normally wouldn't because linking them is closer to a judgement call. I'm not convinced that words such moral, refrigerator, paradise, exotic, mystical, comically, or seducing need to be wikilinked. Generally, you should link to a word for more background on the concept it introduces and addresses, and should not link to a word simply to act as a dictionary definition (you can do that for very unusual or difficult words, but then people usually link to the wikitionary).

That's all for now; I may have a few more items later. If you get these issues resolved, I think at least two tags on the article could be removed and perhaps all three. There is still cleanup left to do, but overall it reads quite a bit better than when the tags were placed. You've done a lot of work there. -- Michael Devore (talk) 07:36, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

That's a good attempt, but I don't think it works well in this case. On my browser, the dancing screencap clips off the top of the episode header so that Duration is blocked. Also the captions on the two episodes pictures don't center under the pictures themselves, and they are much smaller, not looking nice as they did at the larger size. Since there are only two episode screencaps (the Lifa screencap was moved up to to the first mention of her in the Characters section), perhaps direct integration into the episode list isn't the right way to go.

Is it possible to go with a gallery of the two episode screencaps displaying right before or right after the synopsis list, or maybe have the two screencaps run alongside the right margin of the table? I'm not sure what can be done as far as forced layout with wiki markup, but I think the way it's handled now needs to be changed to clear up these problems. -- Michael Devore (talk) 07:00, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

I agree it is not the best solution. A gallery is one possibility, although gallery images tend to display smaller than the rest of those in the article (outside the episodes table). I also notice that the picture of Lifa is 280 pixels wide, but the other two images are 250 px wide. They should be consistent in any case (all 250 perhaps?). Many editors prefer to just use "thumb" which allows user-set preferences to dictate the image width. I liked the two images side by side at the top of the episode table before. I also note there is room for an image on the right side of the Staff section, and another on the right side of the Overall Ratings subsection. Ruhrfisch _><>°^° 20:43, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

[unindent]That looks great under IE, but it is pretty bad under Firefox. Under Firefox, I see an episode table with a left margin the width of the left picture running the length of the table, and the right picture sits on top of the upper right corner of the table, obscuring text. Sigh. Perhaps there's a parameter which avoids this. I'll take a look at it tomorrow if no one else comes up with the solution before then. Sure, go ahead and remove any or all tags if you want. Just leave a note in the edit summary or talk page that you are doing so, and for anyone to re-add the tags with reasons for doing so if they think it necessary. I can't review it for GA as I have made too many edits to it - I also have usually done Geography GA reviews, so take this with a grain of salt. Still I see some WP:MOS issues that should probably be fixed (with the backlog you probably have time). I think the italicized names { Ryuji Masuda etc.) in the lead should not be italicized (unless there is some anime MOS rule I am unaware of). Another thing to check is that the lead paragraphs summarize the rest of the article and that there are no facts in the lead that are not also in the article (no specifics here, just check it all - this is a common error). The MOS also says images should be "thumb" and not have a pixel width set (users can set their preferred image width in my preferences for thumbs). Some of the end material is failry list-y, some reviewers might be fine with this, but others might want it to be more paragraph form. Good luck, Ruhrfisch _><>°^° 01:51, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

Poverty in India Image

Beggar in Bodhgaya

There is a discussion going on regarding whether or not the following image should be a part of the Poverty in India page. Most Poverty in *Country* pages do not have any images, at most 1. User:Otolemur crassicaudatus has brought many images showing extreme poverty in India and has tried to mislead people into thinking this is the way a majority of poor Indians live. There is a vote in which your input would be appreciated. You can find this discussion here

I feel that the the Bodhgaya Beggar image does not represent poverty in India correctly because:

• The beggar in Bodhgaya image does not accurately depict poor people in India because they do not look like this. This man is an exception. To say that this man represents all poor people in India is very wrong. A small minority of Indias poor are disabled. Most living under the poverty line work long hours fishing, farming or as construction workers. This picture shows a man whose legs have been broken. Unless a majority of India's or even a fraction of the poor have legs like this, the image is irrelevant and undue to the poverty in india page.
• Poverty and Disability are not connected in any way. There are thousands of super rich people who are disabled.
• There are 11 country articles on poverty

• These have NO images: Poverty in Pakistan, Poverty in Africa, Poverty in China, Poverty in Australia, Poverty in Canada, Poverty in Malaysia, Poverty in Switzerland, Social issues in Brazil,
• These have 1 image Poverty in the United States, Poverty in France
• The Poverty in India page is the only one with more than 1 image. And the only reason for this is because User:Otolemur crassicaudatus has brought more and more images onto the page.

• This user is being uncivil and unyielding. This user has tried to have my user page deleted because it said America is priceless!
• This image is being used by User:Otolemur crassicaudatus to display his dislike of India and to mislead people into thinking that this is the plight of millions of poor Indians. This user has often added images showing extreme poverty to many India relating articles.[1] Even though this user knows that poverty is present in every country and that extreme poverty is not a fair representation of the Indian economy, this user has previously tried to add an image of children washing their clothes in a mud puddle to the economy section of the India page. This user has added this image to the poverty section of the Economy of India page, when a graph showing poverty would make more sense.
• WP:Undue says:

We should not attempt to represent a dispute as if a view held by a small minority deserved as much attention as a majority view. Views that are held by a tiny minority should not be represented except in articles devoted to those views. To give undue weight to a significant-minority view, or to include a tiny-minority view, might be misleading as to the shape of the dispute.

This can be applied to this because a very tiny fraction of poor people in India are disabled. Most work very hard trying to make a living for themselves. This image is misleading. Nikkul (talk) 03:06, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I passed by the SBOA School & Junior College article today and cringed at the mere thought of something like that being on Wikipedia. I don't have much time on my hands, but I just couldn't stop myself with editing a little bit. Since you wanted to collaborate, I thought I'd let you know. Listen, the main thing is - I don't know anything about SBOA other than the fact that I've had friends who studied there once upon a time... So maybe you could help me out there?
