Copyrights and conflicts of interest

edit

Hi,

I wanted to explain the problems that we're having with the page you recently created at Breast- Gynecological International Cancer Conference, which is probably going to be deleted. First of all, it looks like you just copied your website and pasted it into Wikipedia. This doesn't look good to the reader because it messes up the formatting, which is unfortunate, but it's also a WP:Copyright violation, which is a major problem for Wikipedia. You might like to look through Wikipedia:Introduction for some basic information about editing.

Second, the page cited no independent or WP:Third-party sources. Articles about organizations absolutely must be verifiable by WP:Reliable sources outside the organization itself. The sources do not have to be available online; a couple of newspaper articles is good enough. If your organization hasn't been written about by a person who has nothing at all to do with the conference (and more than just one or two sentences), then it doesn't actually qualify for an article.

Finally, your account name needs to be changed, because it's not permitted by the Wikipedia:Username policy. We want account names to be for a person, not a group. This is largely because when we talk to you, we want to know that it's always you, not just whoever happened to be in the office that day. Also, this account name strongly suggests a WP:Conflict of interest; you'll have to be extra careful to make sure your work on Wikipedia is perfectly fair and based on WP:Published, independent reliable sources. Accounts are free; every single person in your office can have his or her own account. The easiest thing to do is just to create a new account and start over.

Good luck to you, WhatamIdoing (talk) 04:09, 4 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
