Hello, welcome, & a question... edit

Hi there, and welcome to Wikipedia if you are new! I notice that you seem to have a special interest in Stand for Children and its CEO Jonah Edelman. A few people on the Stand for Children talk page seem to think that a lot of bias has crept in. I have to ask: do you have any personal relationship to this group or to Mr. Edelman? Thanks in advance for your honest reply. groupuscule (talk) 06:34, 22 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello! I apologize for the delayed response and thank you for your welcome. You are right, I am not an expert user of Wikipedia so it still takes me a minute to figure out the system (I am not even sure I'm responding where I'm supposed to), I appreciate your patience. I do not have a personal relationship with Mr. Edelman, but I am in fact part of the organization and a supporter of their work. I have followed some of the changes done to the Stand wiki and I actually agree with many of them, especially that the page should not be portrayed as an advertisement and should be solely informational. I have looked at other non-profit wiki's and many of the changes are actually headed in the right direction. I did not participate in the creation of the wiki so I am not sure who decided the content. To be fair, in the same way that the page should not be portrayed as an ad, I also believe that some of the edits are added with a negative bias and can be a little subjective, and this is where I have gotten a little involved (or as much as my limited wikipedia experience will allow me). I hope we can continue to collaborate in a respectful manner, regardless of our different views of the organization. Again, thank you for reaching out.

Thanks for the reply. I'm most interested in expanding the "Activites" section to include SfC's activities in other states. But it's a big research project that will probably take a while! groupuscule (talk) 20:58, 17 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
