well done! edit

Bessie, just to say that you're really putting a lot of work into Facundo. Well done! Let hope that you and your group can get the article through Good Article review this week. --jbmurray (talk|contribs) 09:36, 1 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Facundo edit

Hi! I've posted this here as I didn't want anything to get lost in the talk-page clutter! I've now finished going over the article in a 'first-pass' copyedit, and although I've mentioned a few questions on its talk page, I think, from what Awadewit's suggested in her GA review, that perhaps we ought to work on removing duplication and getting the sections sorted next. We can then go over the prose once more. Any thoughts? (also copied this to Mjlee27's page) EyeSerenetalk 14:20, 2 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Thanks so much for your help! We will work on removing repetitive phrases and everything that Awadewit suggests we should do. We will do that asap! After that, we could go over the prose again. Is that okay? Bessiec (talk) 23:54, 2 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I think that's the best way forward. Obviously as the subject experts much of the clarification and organisation is down to you, but I'll help out where I can! EyeSerenetalk 07:07, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ready for re-review? edit

I think we're about ready for Awadewit to take another look. Do you or one of your group want to drop her a note? (her talk page is here). EyeSerenetalk 12:19, 7 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hello! I have already left her a note last night under the section Facundo. ;) Bessiec (talk) 17:38, 7 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, didn't see that! EyeSerenetalk 18:01, 7 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Problem with Facundo edit

Hi. You'll see that there's a problem with your article. If you do not understand this, you need to come see me ASAP. This needs to be fixed, and there's not much time. --jbmurray (talk|contribs) 01:07, 8 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Facundo edit

Hi -- if you and your team are still interested in getting the article to GA, I would be happy to do what I can to help. It looks like the other articles I've been involved with don't need much attention at the moment, so I'd be glad to see what I can do. I'll have a go at copyediting it, and see if I can offer any advice or questions on the talk page. If you have any questions just ask on the article talk page or my talk page. Mike Christie (talk) 02:36, 9 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

To echo what Mike has said, it's been a real pleasure working with such enthusiastic and willing editors as your team, and I'd hate to think this hiccup has put you off. That's one of the strengths of Wikipedia - when we make editing mistakes on an article (and we all have!), we can just click the edit button again and fix them. I know it's disappointing and not what we were expecting, but we'll get there! EyeSerenetalk 19:25, 9 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Interview edit

Hi. Over on Wikinews they are conducting an interview about our project. Some of the questions are directed specifically at me, and some specifically at those who edited El Señor Presidente. But there are others for any student in the class. I thought you might want to participate.

You will have to set up a new account on Wikinews. Drop a line to Brianmc who can guide you through the technicalities.

It would be good to have an opportunity for you to have your say! --jbmurray (talk|contribs) 20:44, 12 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Final pre-GA update for Facundo edit

Mike and I agree that your article is looking in good shape - thank you so much for all the work you've put in! I've created a new "to-do" list from the various posts on the talk page, which you can find here. The items in this list are the only remaining issues we could find, and there's not really much there... looks like the end is finally in sight now! EyeSerenetalk 16:06, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Congratulations! edit

I'm so pleased this made it through GA; well-deserved after all the work that's been done on it. Take a look at the article talk page for a couple of very positive comments from two respected editors. Congratulations! Mike Christie (talk) 01:46, 18 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, congratulations! You did it! You can now put this on your user page if you want:

Brilliant! I'm so pleased for you - we did it!! :D EyeSerenetalk 18:10, 18 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use Image:Facundo sarmiento.jpg edit

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Facundo sarmiento.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MBelgrano (talk) 14:25, 26 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
