Using "CAT" as a country code

Please read the project page for Wikipedia:WikiProject Flag Template. There is consensus for not creating non-standard country code shortcuts for the flag templates. They are confusing (because only the original author knows what they mean) and unnecessary (because the main template already exists). Thanks, Andrwsc 23:42, 8 November 2007 (UTC)

Just to clarify: there is no need for a "country code" in order to use the sport templates. For example, we use {{fb|Catalonia}} to produce Catalonia. There is no need for {{fb|CAT}} as a shortcut alternative, especially since CAT is not a country code that anybody would recognize. Hope this helps, Andrwsc 23:47, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
