You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at Harold Stephens (author). This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. Omarcheeseboro (talk) 11:03, 8 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Hello, for help with the article, I would recommend reading the links in the messages I left above, and also the links in the tags put on the page. Your First Article is a good resource as well. Additionally you can see a list of good articles and look at bios to see examples.

Also, can you please explain why your user page is redirecting to this article? Thank You --Omarcheeseboro (talk) 21:41, 9 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello,

Thanks for your note and for your helpful suggestions. I will get to work on them at my first opportunity. As far as the redirect goes, I didn't really know how to get the page "live", so to speak and thought the redirect from my "user" page was the way to do it. I will try to correct that as well.

Thanks again for your help and your interest!

Bye for now,

BKKJim (----)

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button   located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. Omarcheeseboro (talk) 11:06, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Much Better overall. Some comments about minor issues -
  • For the "see also" section, see here WP:SEEALSO
  • For external link formatting, go to WP:EL .. there's a section on how to create them
  • The parts about his wife/family sounds more like a press release rather than an encyclopedia. Nothing wrong with listing who is family is, but there's commentary/original research in there with a weird tone
Nice work --Omarcheeseboro (talk) 10:32, 26 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
