Proposed deletion of Quinn (Sookie Stackhouse novels character)

edit

The article Quinn (Sookie Stackhouse novels character) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Apparantly nonnotable as I can't find any reliable sources to back this up, or add out-of-universe information to the article. Also fails WP:WAF and what is here isn't backed up by reliable sources.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ThemFromSpace 15:42, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Quinn

edit

Hi, I saw you started working on this article. The major concern I have with it is that it doesn't appear notable in the real-world, as is required by our fiction guidelines. The best thing you can do to show notability is to include analysis of the character from a real-world perspective and include citations from publications other than the novels themselves. For example, if the New York Times has discussed this character, that would be good evidence of its real-world notability. You can paraphrase what they say and leave a citation to it. If you find any of these sources and need help implementing them you can contact me and I'll try to work them in. ThemFromSpace 15:25, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hello there,

Yes, I agree that this character does not appear notable in the real-world, as it is required by Wiki fiction guidelines. There are no citations from publications other than the novels. Because the HBO series True Blood is based on these books series, maybe we will have better sources in the future. I think we should delete this page until we have more information from this character. I will add a brief character bio in Characters of The Southern Vampire Mysteries. Thanks for your help. BCullen1 (talk) 19:16, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

A simple way to handle the issue would be to redirect the Quinn page to the Characters page. This would be done by replacing all of the content on the page with #REDIRECT [[Characters of The Southern Vampire Mysteries#Quinn]]. This will forward users to the section in the Characters article that discusses him. Redirects are often done in situations such as this where a character isn't notable as a stand-alone article but is notable as part of a cast. ThemFromSpace 22:12, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Non-free use disputed for File:True_Blood_Queen_Sophie-Anne.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:True_Blood_Queen_Sophie-Anne.jpg. Unfortunately, I think that you have not provided a proper rationale for using this image under "fair use". Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page. Note that the image description page must include the exact name or a link to each article the image is used in and a separate rationale for each one. (If a link is used, automated processes may improperly add the related tag to the image. Please change the fair use template to refer to the exact name, if you see this warning.)

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted after seven days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 04:53, 10 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
