Welcome!

Hello, BBwoman1, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

Please do not blank votes by other people at votes for deletion. This is impolite, and may make others question your good faith. Happy editing!--File Éireann 11:15, 10 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Please stop. If you continue to blank pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --File Éireann 11:18, 10 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your query. Currently I do not have the ability to directly block you. If you continue to violate Wikipedia policies however, I can certainly arrange a block promptly. That should not be neccessary as I am sure your future edits will be constructive.--File Éireann 11:27, 10 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

It certainly cannot be denied that I have been keeping an eye on you today, mainly because you blanked my page earler (not very polite, I'm sure you will agree). However, if your edits for the rest of the weekend remain good, I shall never keep an eye on you again. I did not agree with your edits to the article, but will not revert them again. I will leave it to another Wikipedian to do that. I notice that you are rapidly improving in your ability to edit Wikipedia and look forward to many positive contributions in the weeks ahead --File Éireann 13:50, 10 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I decided to remove the comments based on your earlier behaviour and because I had no reason to disbelieve the person who initially edited the article. As I said, I will not revert your edit a second time. You really have a nerve hassling me after your poor behaviour today. Thank you for your query--File Éireann 13:59, 10 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks edit

Thank you for your support at RfA. It shows very great maturity on your part after our earlier disagreement. I have never seen anyone master wikipedia faster in one day.--File Éireann 16:17, 10 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

How to get an article kept edit

There are various things you can do to get an article kept. You'll have to wait until the article is unprotected. This may mean requesting unprotect later. The vandals may get fed up and go away, but even if they don't your edits will be in the memory and can be put back easily.

1. The first thing is to make sure the spelling is correct. There are several spelling mistakes in the article.

2. Also the article should be wikified and cleaned up

3. This is an encyclopaedia. You therefore have to prove in the article that the subject has had a wide effect, deserving to be in an international encyclopaedia (albeit an enormous one). If you can do this successfully and I see something truly new I would consider changing my vote to keep.

While you are waiting for the article to be unprotected, you can make new edits on the talk page.

By the way, I went through a similar baptism of fire in my first few days at Wikipedia. See Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Lordship Lane, an article which I started and was nearly deleted. Even if this article is deleted you can start many more. Make sure they adhere to Wikipedia:Importance. A small word of caution. Not all the votes in the voting are always counted equally. The administrator who counts the votes must weigh up all the different votes, look at the article and come to a decision. --File Éireann 16:41, 10 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
