Hi Avstin -- many thanks for adding the illustration of the extension of Thompson's 6-byte UTF-8 encoding to larger values: it's an interesting development I had not known about before. Unfortunately, it's been removed from the article, but I would like to see it restored. Can you provide any more information about it? like, who developed it, and is it documented anywhere?
