Hello Avril - Leigh. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Avril - Leigh. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Avril - Leigh|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Theroadislong (talk) 13:57, 11 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Good Day Theroadislong,
I have been tasked with updating the information on the Aventus Protocol page as same was extremely outdated. I am the admin assistant for the said company. I still have to update with references as well as the social media links for Aventus. I will await your response as to how I may proceed. I do not expect any form of compensation for the edits to the Aventus information. Avril - Leigh (talk) 14:06, 11 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
As you work for the company you are be deemed to be a paid editor and must make the required disclosure on your user page, once you have done that you can use the request edit system on the article's talk page, you will not be able to add social media links though, they are of no interest to us. Theroadislong (talk) 14:14, 11 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Please advise if I have now done this correctly. I am new to Wikipedia and its how to. Avril - Leigh (talk) 14:26, 11 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes that will suffice. Theroadislong (talk) 14:30, 11 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first pages you edited was Aventus Protoco, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that page.

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date.

New article creation can be difficult, but the Article Wizard can help you. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems. You can also ask for help at the TEAHOUSE and on IRC chatAgain, welcome! --Deepfriedokra (talk) 14:59, 11 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for you message.. above your question is my chat with Theroadislong and all was sorted out yesterday. As I am totally new to the How too of Wikipedia.. they assisted me with updating my talk page and user profile to show that I am a staff member at Aventus, tasked with updating the outdated information (41.0.130.20 (talk) 07:42, 12 May 2022 (UTC))Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing certain pages (Aventus Protocol) because of WP:COI WP:SPAM in that area.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.   --Deepfriedokra (talk) 15:00, 11 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
Please unblock me so that I can continue as tasked to do. I have updated my page to state that I am employed at Aventus. As discussed with Theroadislong Avril - Leigh (talk) 07:46, 12 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Avril - Leigh, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia, such as JamieMitchell28 (talk · contribs). Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. --Deepfriedokra (talk) 15:05, 11 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

Jamie Mitchell was initially tasked to do the update, he is my boss who has now tasked me to do the update. He will no longer be doing any updates, as discussed yesterday with Theroadislong, I will be doing all updates going forward in the capacity of Administrator to Aventus Avril - Leigh (talk) 07:44, 12 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
