I am somewhat embarrassed to have left this subject for so long – diversions outside Wikipedia and within (including the arrival of some lengthy and hard to obtain sources relative to another editing target) have intervened. I have downloaded/bookmarked quite a number of article/books for this purpose, but haven't had the time yet to add the results of my survey to the table.
