Historical neighborhoods

You're right on both counts. I'll put these new articles under historical neighborhoods. Is Kiryat Wolfson considered part of Sha'arei Hesed? Yoninah (talk) 19:31, 16 January 2014 (UTC)

Not sure. Unofficially, they are distinct. --@Efrat (talk) 13:36, 23 January 2014 (UTC)

Re: Vandalism

I would just ignore it, but feel free to start a central discussion and I will pitch in there. Cheers, Ynhockey (Talk) 10:31, 25 February 2014 (UTC)

Jerusalem, Israel

Hi, I have had these kinds of edits pop up with much more frequency recently on my neighborhood pages, such as Neve Yaakov (see running history there), Ramot Mall and Sanhedria Murhevet. They are being done by User:IRISZOOM and User:Solntsa90 and others and seem to me egregriously POV, but they are sourcing Positions on Jerusalem that seems to support them. I am really getting fed up with this POV-pushing and in fact was thinking of stopping from writing new Jerusalem articles anymore. I'm not experienced in administrative actions and am really at a loss what to do. Yoninah (talk) 10:28, 27 February 2014 (UTC)

I reverted you on one article. There is no "POV-pushing". It is not true that Ramot is a "northwestern Jerusalem suburb". The former wording was good and true. Taking the Israeli view, which is that it is just like any part of Jerusalem, is unacceptable. --IRISZOOM (talk) 14:35, 27 February 2014 (UTC)

Israel has no legal basis to any part of Jerusalem (nor does the State of Palestine) no matter the boundary, until negotiations over the final status of Jerusalem have been settled in an internationally approved fashion. this is not "POV-pushing" as stated above, this is what has been ruled legal by UN treaty with almost every country on earth a signatory with the exception of Israel. I'm not going to link you to the relevant material, because I find it absurd at you're posting on this subject without knowing this. This is something you should know. Solntsa90 (talk) 01:02, 3 March 2014 (UTC)

Finally, why should we be given punitive action simply because you're upset and "fed up"? You yourself said that we're sourcing our position accurately, so why the desire to censor us? Wikipedia isn't meant to appeal to emotion, but the facts. Perhaps, if you don't like the facts, you should write a letter to the Knesset that you don't like their policies and that they upset you and you're "Fed up" with them. Jerusalem neighborhood infobox

Hi, the more I create Jerusalem neighborhood pages, the more I think we need to develop an infobox, similar to Template:Infobox settlement, but on a smaller scale – enough to include a name, native name, picture, date of establishment, and coordinates. What do you think? Yoninah (talk) 11:32, 21 May 2014 (UTC)

I suppose it is possible. I'm a bit wary about the complications. I prefer not to get into the inevitable arguments about blue or green infoboxes. --@Efrat (talk) 08:49, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:ILramzor.png

Thanks for uploading File:ILramzor.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 08:46, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

Greetings, Kelly! I'm not sure what needs to be done. The original creator of the graphic released it unconditionally to the public domain. However, before fixing this problem, know that there is a different image replacing this one. File:ILramzor.png is not used in any Wikipedia articles. As far as I'm concerned, File:ILramzor.png can be eliminated. Feel free to do so. I will not object. Oh, the file actually does appear on someones user page. I don't think it will make any difference there, either. Kind regards, --@Efrat (talk) 17:39, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for the reply - I was just doing some general file cleanup. If you're not bothered about the file we can just leave it to be swept out in a week or so. With respect - Kelly hi! 17:53, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
